Meet Toryana Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toryana Jones.

Hi Toryana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Toryana Jones and I am the owner of TJ Takes Productions. I’m originally from Avon Park, Florida and relocated to Atlanta, GA in Winter of 2019. My passion for videography and cinematic storytelling has always been an integral part of who I am, and I enjoy capturing life’s most important moments.

My formal education began back in high school where I enrolled in video production courses, and became instantly hooked! So much so that I created, edited, and filmed my own show on the school’s broadcasting network, called “Toryana’s Tales.” This show ran for four years through high school, and fueled my drive and curiosity for film.

Over the past two years I have consistently improved my skills and acquired my drone operator’s license. It has really helped me express my creativity and bring everything together for a beautiful end product. I love to learn new ideas, techniques, and perspectives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been several obstacles that I used as stepping stones to my success. When I started TJ Takes Productions, I had to build my portfolio and attain clientele. This was a challenge because the location I was residing in did not offer an excess of opportunity like Atlanta, GA. Another obstacle that reared its ugly head is imposter syndrome. Shortly after moving to Atlanta, the pandemic began. My self-confidence took a hit and I had to adapt the business accordingly. I used this time to improve my video editing skills, reassess my priorities and learned the value a solid support system provides.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have had the opportunity to film weddings, real estate, music videos, and corporate and small business content. I specialize in real estate and am a certified drone operator. I am most proud of my work ethic and congeniality. I am known for my cinematic style of storytelling and passion for turning visions and ideas into tangible content. My ambition sets me apart from others – I have a strong desire and determination to achieve success. I am intentional with the content I put into the world.
