Today we’d like to introduce you to Vega Montanez.
Hi Vega, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My father was a DJ for a boat called the Floating Hospital. I followed in his steps and started DJing when I was 13 years old. After my uncle passed, I turned to making music to help relieve some of the pain of losing him. This brought me to many places an sets that taught me how much fun I’d have if I got into Filmmaking. I first tried my hand with a studio that didn’t work out because I lacked knowledge. I started Coin Theory Media with the lessons learned from my last failures and everything feels great. We just made our first movie and have had dozens of clients.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been quite an interesting adventure. The first time I tried to dive into a TV/Film production, I really had no idea what it meant. I just figured if I had some cameras and a studio, everything would just work out. One big lessoned I learned is the value of understanding your audience. There is a big difference between people who like what you do and people who want to buy what you do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Personally, I am a writer. That’s my primary skill set. Coin Theory Media is a production company that specializes in Cinematic Video Content. So for me, it’s a perfect fit. Our clients come to us because we take our time to craft compelling video content that will captivate their audience and really help them increase their brand presence, revenue, and overall connection with their potential clients. That’s really what sets us apart, aside from pricing. I truly believe in building opportunity for people to tell their stories so we do everything in our power to work with any budget. We want to produce incredible content and we want to work with everybody.
How do you think about happiness?
Wow, I’m usually the one asking this question so I’m kind of surprised by it. The two things that genuinely make me happy are writing and helping other. When I write, I get to build worlds with interesting people with deep stories to work through. I aim to bring real-world situations into a fall world to help us all get a different perspective on life and circumstance. For me, and hopefully, for others, it helps to keep an open mind to all the possible things people are going through in life. The other thing that makes me happy, as mentioned before, is helping people. More specifically, helping people get to live out their dreams. I believe everyone should be able to do the things that make them happy and I want to help people figure out how. I’m at my happiest when I’m writing freely without a care in the world and I want to help others get their. For many people, that begins with their business or turning their hobby into a business. Coin Theory Media makes that possible by helping our clients to understand who their audience is so they can spend more time doing what they love and less time figuring who to engage with.
