Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Jester.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
June 17th, 2021 I opened my first restaurant located in Rex, GA. We are currently a takeout eatery specializing in serving Foodgasms! I officially started my business April 20, 2020. I began catering weddings, private events, corporate meetings meal prep and as a food vendor some of the hottest pop-ups in and around Atlanta! I realized that cooking was definitely my true passion and ultimately knew it was time to make a career move! In 2013 I received cooking experience and training working with some of the best chefs in Atlanta at the Marriott in Buckhead. Growing up, I would assist my mom in the kitchen because she also has her own catering business and has a passion for cooking. June 2021, we both decided it was time to make a career change, step out on faith, and go for our dream.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Transitioning into a business owner has definitely been a journey! Get comfortable being uncomfortable! The road to success has many opportunities for life learning lessons. The experiences you encounter, the people you meet along the way; will inspire you and/or make you wiser. I’m thankful for the journey. It has made me stronger and is molding me into becoming the successful businesswoman I want to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of Thee Chef J LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Thee Chef J is located at 6080 SR-42 Rex, GA 30273! We are a black women owned take out restaurant on the Southside! We are a mother and daughter duo “Cooking for the Culture”! We specialize in Soulfood and Seafood! We also serve Brunch all day! So if you want chicken & waffles, shrimp and grits, with a side of smothered chops! We are exactly where you need to be! We offer a variety of southern comfort favs all made to order and served to go! We are proud of how much we’ve grown since we’ve opened June 17th, 2021! We are becoming known in the neighborhood and some pretty amazing customers; both new and regulars! Tues – Thursday, we are open from 11am – 6pm and Friday 11am – 7pm. On Saturday, we serve brunch only 11am – 4pm. Come on in and have Foodgasm!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
