Today we’d like to introduce you to Diah Carter.
Hi Diah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was a little girl, I would watch my mom make flower bouquets, centerpieces and fill our home with beautiful decor for her friend’s weddings and parties. I remember being constantly in awe of the beauty she was always able to create and the ease at which she pulled it together. It was only a matter of time before I developed my own personal love for decor. Over the years, I was always the friend volunteering to put together baby showers, weddings and parties, so transitioning my hobby into a business happened very organically. I started off doing small events here and there, but social media has really given me traction and I have had the privilege of working all over Atlanta and the surrounding areas. My three daughters, G’Lyah, Gerryn, and Goi were the inspiration behind G3 Events LLC. I wanted to do something that I enjoyed that I could one day share with my daughters. Every single thing I do is with them in mind and in an effort to be a great example.
I specialize in problem-solving and curating super personalized events. I take time to access the specific needs and wants of each client and always try to make their event as unique as possible within their budgets. Clients who choose to work with me appreciate my hard work, patience, and sincerity. I get the greatest sense of satisfaction when I see the look of awe on my client’s face when they see my finished product. I consider myself to be blessed and I take so much pride in doing a good job. I am a typical girly girl. Hair, beauty and aesthetics are just a few of the simple pleasures that define Diah Carter. I make sure I take care of myself, so I can take care of my clients. Besides motherhood, being a business owner is my most important title and I am committed to wearing it well. I have never shied away from hustling or hard work and my faith in God allows me to keep pushing and never accepting “no” as an answer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many other businesses worldwide, last year proved to be a true test of my faith. The event industry suffered dramatically and I had many cancellations and refund requests that severely deterred my expectations for the year. I had intentions to curate a wine tasting event called “Wine Not”, but COVID had other plans. Nonetheless, this did not stop me.
As you know, we’re big fans of G3 Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The passion that fuels my brand is sparked by a focus and desire to bring my client’s vision to life. Over the past eight years I have gained the skills to always deliver a professional and meaningful experience for my clients. Nothing brings me more joy than having the opportunity to meet new people, understand their needs, and build genuine relationships. As an employee of Grady Health System and a healthcare management student, I still always manage to give my clients the prioritization to make them feel important and attended to.
