Life & Work with Nycole Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nycole Mitchell.

Hi Nycole, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Nycole Jazmine Mitchell. I was born and raised in Westchester, New York, with my parents and three brothers. We moved to North Carolina my senior year of high school and I currently attend The Illustrious #1 HBCU, North Carolina A&T University, to receive a degree in the Bachelor of Fine Arts. I aspire to be an Academy and Emmy Award-winning actress with a platform to inspire black queens in the making, along with other minorities, to break any norms that society tries to place us in. I want to move to Atlanta after my graduation to further my career in the Film Industry.

It all started for me as a child who loved to make movies with her family on her mom’s tablet. I always loved being a creator who was able to express myself in numerous ways on camera/recordings. We always had friends and family around and I always found a way to keep everyone entertained and interested. I would create skits and stories and either direct and or perform in them. I think I felt free to create that way, mainly because the camera was one who never judged my love for the arts and my creative personality. In high school, I started making YouTube videos and eventually made my own channel. I continue to make videos on things that interest me or I feel may interest or help others. I love having fun with it and just being free while doing them. I did research, convinced my family to purchase cameras, lights, editing tools, everything I would need to make a good video and just kept at it to get better every time. I suppose I can say I got to where I am today through dedication, networking, consistency, and staying true myself and my dreams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never easy trying to accomplish a dream. It comes with a lot of criticism, haters, mental and physical barriers to break and more, differentiating for each person. One of my biggest struggles is dealing with anxiety and the thoughts of “not being good enough,” which many times have put me in depressing mindsets. Doing so, I have realized I can’t belittle myself to everyone’s liking. I’ve started to overcome these struggles by surrounding myself with positive surroundings and thoughts while making sure I am taking care of mental and physical health first. Also, having endless support from my family keeps me motivated to be the best version of myself. I believe there are many times, for creators and even business people, where we can lose focus of our objective or ourselves by trying to please others, but we have to remember the most important thing is to stay true to yourself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My notability started recently over the quarantine as I’ve increased my activity on the internet through Instagram, YouTube and Tiktok, as well as collaborating with other creators in the Atlanta area to create entertaining content to share to the world. A majority of the content I create is comedic entertainment to lift the spirits of others and create relatable skits and scenarios. I do want to focus my YouTube Channel on providing more healthy/happier lifestyles for others through sharing my fitness journey, healthy eating habits, self-care techniques and more, as well as fashion style tips and other fun things to keep people engaged. Though doing so I’ve also had the opportunity to model for multiple brands and fashion shows, participate in short films/plays and being an ambassador/influencer for several brands. I honestly believe I am still only at the beginning of my journey and hope to accomplish so much more and inspire others to do the same.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with me by reaching out to my business email for promos or collaborations with my business email at booknycolemitchell@gmail.com. Support is appreciated by interacting with the content I create, following and subscribing to my media platforms on Instagram, YouTube and even Tiktok, all at Nycole Mitchell. I would also appreciate support for my upcoming business, “The One N Only,” clothing and self-care line, which advocates for people being the best version of themselves through style and self-care. Finally, the biggest form of support, more than anything, is through a simple share, that one re-post can go a long way for someone, more than people know.
