Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Brown.
Hi Ashlee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Wickety Wickety Wax first started with my dad. He called me about a business proposal and let me know of the name and the theme and told me to go from there! And then I knew that my friend made intention candles and that’s when I got her involved. We both really enjoy music. I grew up in performing arts schools and camps as well as dancing and singing in the choir at church, so music was a huge part of my life. Bringing music to candles wasn’t a hard crossover either. Just like music can make you feel a different type of ways for different people as well as reminiscence, so can fragrance!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not! I thought I knew what I was doing when I first started, but I was completely WRONG! Candle making is a science. It’s like taking a chemistry class whenever I get a new fragrance or new wick. Then the idea of running a business in general on top of holding a 9-5? I’ve worked up to four jobs at once in my lifetime, so I’m pretty great at juggling many things but to add a business was so overwhelming at first. Posting everyday, making videos, testing, vendors being out of supplies, email marketing, branding, etc. Such a headache at first but now it’s becoming easier.

We’re dedicated to giving you the very best soy wax products while experiencing a feeling of nostalgia, healing, and great vibes through music and fragrance. We want to evoke a feeling from you when lighting our candles. We want to be able to relax you or brighten up your day, give you an energy-altering experience right there in your room.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have a candle calculator that does wonders for quick math instead of long math! Also, I am in plenty of candle-making groups on Instagram filled with new and very well seasoned candle makers/business owners who’ve been a huge help in troubleshooting some processes and helping out with opinions about the brand. Then of course, YouTube has thousands of videos the assist, anyone!
