Electra, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
I am believed to be one of the first black women to have created a temporary hair color that is completely free of harsh chemicals. The company is a Black woman, veteran-owned small business and I started developing the product in 2017.

I started my company because, like so many other women, I was looking for an alternative to the rinses that weren’t giving her the vibrant popping color that I so badly wanted yet without the harmful chemicals.

I created a Rockstar in a Jar!

Can you take us back in time and talk to us about how you got started?
I started my company because, like so many other women, I was looking for an alternative to the rinses that weren’t giving me the vibrant popping color that I so badly wanted yet without the harmful chemicals and process of using a developer to bleach my hair to get that vibrant color I so badly desired.

I began using the color on myself and other people began to ask how I was changing my hair weekly and sometime daily without damaging it. Once I told them, they requested I start making them some as well and this is how the company was birthed.

Did you have a full time job?
No.

How was it working as a single parent?
Hard but rewarding.

What was the best lesson you’ve learned from becoming an entrepreneur?
Most of the strength comes from you and so does the things holding you back. It all starts with you and your mindset.

Thank you so much again for sharing all of this with us. Before we go, can you share with our readers how they can connect with you, learn more or show support?
