Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Smith.
Hi Nathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My life started in the small town of Statham, GA, where I was born and raised. The city is about one hour outside of Atlanta and growing up there, we only had one traffic light and only one major highway that ran through the city. In grade school, I had a fondness for math and science subjects. I choose to double study in both pre-med and radiologic science in Savannah, GA at Armstrong Atlantic State University (now known as Georgia Southern University). My idea was to take x-rays on the weekend while in medical school to help with costs. Life doesn’t always go as planned and the roads we take have their reasons. One semester before graduation I was offered a job in the MRI field of radiology at a hospital in South Carolina. I finished my studies, graduated and began my career in Radiology.
During this time in my life, I developed a passion for traveling internationally, which sparked me to start my very first business being an independent travel agent. I also have a passion for helping people and noticed that my peers weren’t as knowledgeable on how easy it is to save enough money to experience international travel, let alone understanding where to begin with the planning process of it all as well. So my business was created with the inspiration to help first-time travelers plan and take their first journey successfully. Experiencing different cultures and working in the healthcare service industry instilled in me want to share my knowledge and experiences. I begin to start sharing my knowledge in the MRI field and, after a few years, formed the company Imaging Diversified.
Imaging Diversified has grown to include training in CT, selling of Radiology equipment, consulting of radiology imaging centers, MRI image optimization and MRI accreditation. I not only want to share what I know in the Radiology world but to share what I’ve learned in finances and business. I’m choosing to use all of my life experiences to coach others and speak when the opportunity presents. I co-own Au79 Photography, a photography company servicing Atlanta and surrounding areas. I also co-own Smith & Smith Realty Management Partners with my lovely wife. Together me and my wife manage rental properties, renovations and invest in homes specializing with homeowners that can not make sale in the traditional manner. I currently am a Radiology Director for an ortho group, a dedicated husband, the father to two energetic boys, and I love to watch sports in my spare time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Looking back at my road to get where I am today I would say I’ve had a decently smooth road. My main struggles have been figuring out the social media part of the business. The times have changed and of course, you have to change to stay relevant. The good thing is a lot of the knowledge is more accessible. I want to reach everyone. My business needs to be recognized worldwide.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Imaging Diversified?
