Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanda Johnson.
Shanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began working for a major airline 28 years ago and my love for travel began. I have traveled with my group of friends for years and would always organize the trips for us. So they always said I needed to consider becoming a travel agent. And once I met TeAndra (my travel advisor), she planned a lot of our trips took me under her wing to become a travel advisor with her agency in 2017. And then in 2021, I started Trekk Wright Travel
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Covid brought about so many challenges with travel industry. With so many changes and the uncertainties of the future, I didn’t know how my travel agency would survive. But now travel is back and the future is looking good.
We’ve been impressed with Trekk Wright Travel, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Trekk Wright is a travel agency. We are a home-based agency, that specializes in group and individual travel. We want everyone to travel without any fear of judgment of size, color and/or physical limitations, My knowledge of the airline industry with my 28 years of experience, me traveling as a plus size woman and dealing with some physical limitations, I know the fear of traveling from the airplane seats, seatbelt extenders, sitting uncomfortable to make sure you don’t invade the person sitting next to you personal space on the plane, worrying about the walking in the airport, will the bed be sturdy enough, will there be any excursions you will be able to do once there, will you be judged at the pool or on the beach and the list goes on, but I know how this feels so I give my clients options that will work for them and their personal situation so it will ease their “trek” for a comfortable and stressless trip.
