Hi Tina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Three years ago, sitting at home after a long day, I said to myself I need to start a business. Immediately, I heard the Lord speak ‘Date Night with Tina Reneé!’ The ideas flooded my mind and I knew this was a part of my calling and purpose. It encompasses three of my favorite things to do: hosting events, singing and cooking! From private chef services to wedding services, I have provided unforgettable experiences for couples and singles all over Atlanta and the surrounding cities. I like to describe DNWTR as a mountain I’ve been climbing for three years. I started off with two bookings in a year, making no profit, to now having repeat clients and traveling domestically to cater for weddings!. On May 20th, 2020, I turned my idea into an official LLC and built my website for easy booking. There’s nowhere to go but up from here!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has taken three years for this business to become somewhat of a well-oiled machine, but there is still so much work to do! The biggest challenge in the beginning and even sometimes currently are overcoming the negative thoughts. It took a year for me to believe that this business was worth it. The lack of clientele lead me to undervalue the worth of my business. I was charging as low as $25 per person for my date night private experiences and events, not making any profit and paying out of my own pockets for the events. Being patient with the process has also been a challenge. I mean, why can’t my business just magically become a billion-dollar business overnight? I have to remember to rejoice in the small victories and trust that God is behind this, has gone before this, and it will not fail. Lastly, I have to remember that the business is not only for my own gain but for the people that need to experience God and breakthroughs through their experience. Romance can easily be neglected when life gets busy. I have to remember the need I’m providing through this business. For that reason, amongst others, I can’t give up.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Date Night with Tina Reneé is an event hosting and catering business known for bringing in the romance for couples and providing unforgettable experiences for all catering needs. Every event is uniquely tailored for client and includes a six-course meal selected by the client, décor to set the atmosphere of the event, and the option of live entertainment by Tina Reneé and other special guests. I am most proud of the joy DNWTR brings to everyone. Although the top focus is the romance, DNWTR experiences are enjoyed by everyone! In addition to the smiles and awes, the food is never left uneaten. DNWTR is one of a kind!
How do you think about happiness?
Spending quality time with people and serving others makes me happy. I’m very personable and being around people refreshes and strengthens me. My favorite way to serve others is cooking for them. I cook my food with love. As corny as it may sound, it makes all the difference. I genuinely love people. To spread love makes me happy.
