For Terry Milla, releasing four projects on 1.11.26 wasn’t about volume—it was about intention. Anchored by the symbolism of alignment, this wave of work brings together music, books, and motivation as one unified philosophy, from the fearless energy of Off Tha Leash to the clarity and discipline woven through 222 Timeless Truths. Rooted in Warrior Life values—health, independence, and truth—Terry’s latest chapter challenges convention and invites listeners and readers alike to live with purpose, raise their vibration, and move boldly in their own direction.
Terry, you released four major projects on the same day — music, books, and a motivational EP — what made 1.11.26 the right moment to bring all of this work into the world at once?
1.11 is symbolic of 111 or “alignment,” but also of my book, “111 Timeless Truths”, which was released a couple of years ago. I wanted the new book, “222 Timeless Truths”, to drop on that day as a reminder of the previous work.
Across Off Tha Leash, Invincible Warrior, 222 Timeless Truths, and All Plant Everything, there’s a strong throughline of alignment, discipline, and positivity — how do these different formats help you express the same core philosophy in unique ways?
That’s a great question. I use different formats to tap into my creativity and also as my therapy. I would feel powerless if I didn’t speak my truth, and each format allows me to speak that truth in its own way. Music is so powerful and many people unknowingly use it against themselves. The vibrations and frequencies with rhyming words act like a hypnotic mantra that programs the subconscious mind, changing your energy. Listening to ‘murder music’ will affect you the same way listening to a song with good vibes will. What you put in is what you get out. I use it for motivation and affirmations.
The books allow me to tap into a deep place within myself and communicate clearly. The written word is also a powerful format that I use to manifest my visions.
Off Tha Leash represents living fearlessly in your truth — what personal or creative shifts led you to feel truly “off the leash” at this stage of your journey?
I’ve been through a lot in this life. My personal challenges and adversities taught me to focus on what’s important. With that mindset, I realized that many of the things we do are given higher priority than they deserve. My father used to say, “function over form,” but many people have that backward. They take care of their car and keep it looking clean but neglect their health, as an example. I said in a verse, “I unfollowed the crowd, I go against the grain”. I stopped doing what everyone else was doing and went in a different direction. That’s what “Off Tha Leash” means to me.
Your work blends hip-hop, martial arts, plant-based living, and motivation under your Warrior Life philosophy — how do these elements fuel each other in your everyday life and creative process as Khari Sekou I?
I’ve been rhyming since I was a kid and I love doing music. I love music but not the music industry. That’s why I went independent and I’m going direct to the fans. Martial arts gives me the strength, mindset, discipline, and fitness to do everything else in my life. Plant-based living is key. The whole-food, plant-based diet is the only diet proven to reverse and treat illnesses. Health is true wealth. I said in another verse, “How you live in a palace but you on dialysis?”. That’s another example of people lacking the right priorities. All of these elements come together under the Warrior Life philosophy, but they also define who I am.
With a career spanning music placements, books, public speaking, and entrepreneurship, what do you most hope people feel or take action on after experiencing this wave of releases?
I aim to rewrite the narrative. I dare to challenge the popular opinion that hip-hop has to be low vibration, hyper sexual, drug infested, criminal music. Hip-hop was the voice of the hood before it became the voice of the corporations. When people see me living my truth fearlessly, I hope it inspires them to do the same.
