Today we’d like to introduce you to Pearl Ransome.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Pearl. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in the hair salon business in North Carolina. I’ve Always watch my mom and Aunt do hair as professionals. My mom knew that I was very talented in doing hair, so she would get me to do her hair all the time. It was like a chore for me lol and no one likes doing chores. I always thought that hair stylist didn’t make a lot of money based off what I’ve seen. Throughout college, I would do hair for extra money. I would have my regular clients come every two weeks to get their hair done. While also working night shift at the hospital full time. Thank the universe for social media!!! One of my videos went viral on Facebook and my clientele expanded which allowed me to I quit my job and persued doing hair full time in my home. I eventually decided to work in the salon setting just to get the feel for it. While being there I learned a lot. By living in North Carolina, I knew that having a hair salon for most stylist was their ultimate goal but that wasn’t my ultimate goal, I wanted more! I decided to move to Atlanta Georgia “Home of Hair.” I moved to Atlanta in August 2018, a year after my video went viral. My clientele is awesome and more people are hearing about me daily. My energy is very positive, I’m very inspiring, giving, and my work is one of a kind. That’s what my clients love about me the most.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, there was definitely some obstacles but that didn’t stop me because I knew where I was headed. My advice would be don’t be afraid of change.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a braid specialist. I help other women become a braid boss by sharing my master skills and experience in braiding and growing their content. I’m proud of my ability to have a focused mindset which allows me to manifest all of my desires throughout my journey.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
My advice would be don’t be afraid of change. Sometimes, you have to switch things up and move on to different places to achieve your goals.
