Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Palmer.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my company while I was working in corporate America. I always had a passion for the beauty industry. My mom worked as a hairstylist when I was younger and I would always watch her when her clients would come over.
In 2013/2014 I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School Esani to expand my knowledge in the beauty industry. At the time I was more so into makeup than hair but as time went on, I began to balance them out.
Once I graduated I began to take clients out of my house. It was nice because it was convenient for me but I wanted to separate the two.
Fast forward to 2018. I’m still working my corporate job (working from home). I had my laptop in my hand and decided “why not go for it?”
I googled salon suites in my area and started visiting each salon I was interested in.
Finally, I found the perfect home for my business. I started building my clientele and getting my name out there. All while still working my corporate job.
I wanted to go full time with the salon but the thought of inconsistent money scared me. A few months later I found out that my corporate job that I clinged on to for dear life was relocating to Nashville, TN and I had some important decisions to make.
Needless to say, I took a leap! I took a chance on myself and decided to dedicate my time to my dreams. I became a full-time entrepreneur. With a lot of prayer sweat and tears, I made it to my one year anniversary and I couldn’t be happier!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been challenging. I opened my salon without a steady clientele. I had a few regulars but not enough to substain a business.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is waking up everyday and standing in your purpose and being able to fulfill out your dreams. It also means providing opportunities for others to be able to see their dreams come to life.
