Meet Geraud Singh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geraud Singh.

Geraud, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Embracing my West Indian culture and not taking no for an answer led me into my purpose of modeling and in due time acting. On top of my own aspirations and goals, being told no and turned away because of my skin color, skin tone and location sparked my interest and passion even more. Modeling gave me a different type of energy; I feel alive when I am modeling.

Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan the odds were very slim for West Indian models, but I continued to press my way and not be discouraged. The agency that I was working for cut me because of my skin color and continued to work a nine to five to keep residual income flowing into my household. Later, I took a management position within Corporate America and it landed me in Atlanta. A couple of months after moving here to Atlanta, I got my first acting booking to be an extra Madea Boo 2, confirmation that I am in the right place and at the right time. Growing up in Michigan, I developed my soft skills and work ethics, that prepared me to work hard, maintaining my job and bookings sometimes working thirteen days straight. I always had the dream of becoming successful and being great however, I didn’t know it would get me to this point in life, some call it luck I call it a favor.

In 2017, I was booked as the lead man in Tammy Rivera’s video “All these Kisses”, one week later, I was booked in Vivian Green’s video as the lead man “I Don’t Know.” During this year, I had several images go viral and post on several social media sites and blogs. I had my first feature in a magazine “Obvious Magazine” with an 8-page spread and first write up an ad with ESSENCE for Bearded Bae. I closed out 2017 featured in Urban Skin Rx short film featuring Eva Marcelle as her leading guy and I interviewed with Jawn Murray, a Pop Culture Expert, Media Personality and Quick-Witted TV host about “Model Talk.”

In 2018, I had a few extra roles in the drama series “Green Leaf” on the OWN Network and the primetime soap opera “The Haves and The Have Nots” for OWN Network. My hard work and talents have planted seeds, and now the world is slowly witnessing and watching the growth of Geraud Singh. More blessings overfill my plate, I was chosen to be the leading man in the legendary R&B group Xscap3 video “Memory Lane.” I was featured in ESSENCE Top 10 “Zaddy Alert” for the Love & Sex Edition. I did stand in for the 2018 BET Social Awards and I was an extra in the Romantic Comedy “Nobody’s Fool.”

For 2019, this year started off grand, I was a featured extra for the movie “Under Cover Brother 2” and the new hit Comedy “Little” that’s in theaters now. I was fortunate enough to be booked through Cab castings to do stand in and table read for the new multigenerational family saga “Ambitions” for the OWN Network. I was invited back again to be a part of the 2019 BET Social Awards on BET doing stand in and I was a featured extra in the 21 Savage’s music video “A Lot” featuring J-Cole.

I want to inspire my followers, peers, and everyone that is watching me that there is nothing that can stop your dreams but you. Three years in the making, I have had many luxuries of working with the best of the best and are still working and continuously striving for greatness without having representation, a PR, or a team. Do not be discouraged or let one no deter you from your calling, it is not about how bad you want it, it’s how hard are you going to work to reach your dreams.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely being self-esteem and getting a lot of no’s along the way. Also, support from others as a creative.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m known for modeling/influencer.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, of course, most definitely.
