Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia O’Connor.

Tia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always considered myself as a “Creative”! From the time I can remember, I have never been afraid to creatively express myself. T.C. Couture was birthed out of my passion to express that creativity! The concept of T.C. Couture was many things prior to finally settling on what it has become today. Much prayer and vigilance, trial and error, pausing, revamping, and dedication has cultivated my brand into a force to be reckoned with and one that I am proud to call my own.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to T.C. Couture being the brand that it is today has not been a walk in the park, but it also hasn’t been as difficult as trying to avoid potholes while driving in Downtown Atlanta. Hopefully, you’ll catch the humor in that. All jokes aside, the largest obstacle that I had to face was being okay with the people closest to me not seeing my vision and being as supportive as I would’ve imagined. In the journey to Entrepreneurship, I’ve learned to keep pushing, even if the ones you expect to cheer you on aren’t. You should ALWAYS be your number one cheerleader! The one piece of advice I would give to other women, particularly young women starting out their journey to know your “Why”! This journey will not always be easy but if you know why you started, why you want to continue, and why you were built to accomplish this when times get difficult you’ll be able to persevere knowing your “why” will get you through.

T.C. Couture is your one-stop shop for Photography, Event Planning, and Image Consulting. Over the last few years, we have coordinated and hosted several speed dating events across Atlanta (Shout out to my Speed Dating A-Team; Jeon Graham, Kelly Ramsey, and Dax Williams). We photograph events (Weddings, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, etc), portraits (family and individual), and also stock photography. And there have been many Imaging and Styling consults in between. We are mainly known for Photography and our Speed Dating events and as a brand, we pride ourselves on our motto; “It’s One Thing to Be Seen, Another Thing to Be Noticed.” In a saturated market such as Atlanta, we strive to offer excellence in each of the services that we offer, understanding that it’s the attention to detail and professionalism that makes all the difference in delighting our clients and allowing them to “return and refer”!! We really take our time to understand the vision of each of our clients so that we can help that vision emerge from conceptualization to actualization beyond their expectation! I think that is what sets us apart as a brand, we truly will do what it takes to make sure the vision of our clients is exactly what they expect and then some!

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
My parents always encouraged me to be the best! They were super supportive and taught me that I could do literally anything that I put my mind to. I have lived in that vein, determined to accomplish everything I set out to do. They taught me to envision success and learn how to overcome obstacles. Envision, plan, and execute, those have been the steps that I have followed growing up and will continue to follow throughout my journey. I’ve learned over the years that I was very blessed to have my parents instill such great values and morals in me during those tender years, it has definitely shaped the individual that I am today and directly reflects what my brand stands for as well.
