Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Clark.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Crystal. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was 15, my mom when to school to become a nail tech and I would go with her and I thought that was what I wanted to do also. I would go to the school and it cosmetology also and watch and listen and I knew then nails wasn’t for me. I needed to do more. When she finished nail school, I went to work in our small town salon of NC and shampooed hair and did all things around the salon I knew one day, I would own I salon with my mom. I watched my mentor an amazing stylist and learned a lot from her but knew I needed more. I didn’t go right away out of high school and worked in other fields to make sure hair was what I wanted and wanted some business skills because I wanted to know the ins and outs of things and how to manage money and people and that’s what I did in other jobs and that has helped me today. So, when I went to cosmetology school, I went to a school that also gave me a two-year business degree with my certification in cosmetology and today I strive to continue my education as many times as I can with as many classes that I can take online or in class. I love doing hair and I love making my clients happy! I don’t see this as a job but a passion!! We are artist and hair is our canvas and it’s great what we are doing out here for people!! My mom and I opened our little salon three years ago and are loving every minute of it. I have a loving husband, Michael at home that supports my passion and three fur babies, Bubby, and two puppies Bella and Luna. We are just living life and loving it!
Has it been a smooth road?
There have been struggles like with anything. I think don’t like to see you succeed but you just have to keep going and we do. This salon is just my mom and I and we now have added a spa space and maybe one day will add another hairstylist but we don’t like the drama and that is a struggle you have at other places and we are I quiet and peaceful place. That is one thing our clients have loved since we opened 3 years ago. They have said that they love coming here just to relax and get their services because it’s so peaceful!! I just wish all stylist believed like me in education, I know there is a lot out there but when I offer classes that don’t show up or no response and it’s sad and heartbreaking but we keep offering and keep moving on. Because I am gonna keep my education going on. I hear this a lot from my hair network all over.

We are a hair and nail salon. We also offer massage. I specialize in haircut, perms, balayage, Voel hair extensions for fine/medium hair texture only. I know for red and blonding hair color. Formula 18 advocate.
I am most proud that I was able to open my company with my mom and stay open for three years and be thriving and still going strong and we have been in this industry combined 30 years. I have been the stylist for 16 years and I love what I do and wouldn’t do anything else. I strive to make my clients happy. The integrity of my client’s hair and quality be the best.
I believe in continued education and going to all classes and hair shows and if you don’t believe in that I will not hire you that is why there is no other stylist working in my salon bc around me it’s been hard to find that. If the product will damage I clients hair I will not put it on the hair and I will tell I client the TRUTH. We are a family-owned and operated salon. Everything we do and have accomplished came from the Lord above and we strive to serve him first. We are here to make anyone who comes into our salon feel safe, comfortable and beautiful. From the time we share a Hello and a Wave goodbye, you are our main focus. We will truly listen to what you are requesting with giving our honest and most education feedback. We will bring our clients the most updated styles, current trends, and quality products. Through continuing education, passion and experience. Our goals are to become your lifelong friend, family, and consultant.
