Today we’d like to introduce you to Malik Hall.
Malik, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In the Summer of 2018, I faced a hardship that severely affected my credit. It was not only embarrassing, but I was going through a tough time and was being pulled in all types of different directions. I then searched for ways to repair and fix my credit, not only back to the way it should be, but if possible, even greater. I did one thing: read, read, read. From doing so and having an understanding of what I should do & what type of approach to take, I then reached out to the different creditors (companies that issue lines of credit to a consumer) and the three major credit bureaus in removing the negative items from my credit report. From using my methods, I was then able to not only remove the negative items, but I gotten my credit score to a 785 WITHIN a month. I hated how helpless I felt with my hardship; It was a feeling as if I hit rock bottom and couldn’t climb out the massive hole of bad credit and negative items. Because of being able to overcome and getting out of that hole, I then decided I wanted to help others in reaching their financial freedom by ridding of those negative items and inaccuracies that were listed in their credit reports. I then knew that my purpose was to help those no matter their age, ethnicity, sexuality, social class, etc. You need credit for EVERYTHING: jobs, apartments, homes, cars, utilities, cell phones, loans and more! I wanted to be that “guardian angel” in a sense that everyone needs and wants when it pertained to their credit as a whole.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road when apart of this industry. It was sometimes definitely long, rough, and rugged. Some obstacles I’ve been faced with is dealing with impatient clients, those who not only went against my advice and instructions of what and what not to do but who would then be mad that their scores were moving backward and not progressing as it should. A consequence is then me having to start the process over from the beginning. Such a thing is something that’s time consuming simply because credit repair is not an overnight type of process. It takes time and patience if wanting to be done correctly and effectively. I also faced having to really go back & forth and fight with some companies about removing negative and inaccurate information from a person’s credit report(s). It does happen a few times when a company reports incorrect information on a clients’ credit reports and for strange reason when you inform them of such a mistake, they simply do not want to fix the mistake at hand. It’s sort of like they want you to allow them to TELL you what is and is not correct and to just go by what they say and not providing evidence stating what you’re saying is not factual. However, I never say no and give up!
Please tell us about MJ Consulting Group.
My company is an Atlanta based company that I operate in Midtown Atlanta. Although based in Atlanta, I have clients that range from other states such as North & South Carolina, Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, California, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennesse, Hawaii, and even Canada to name a few. I offer credit consulting, specializing in the disputing and removal of negative items and inaccuracies such as inquiries, collections, medical debt, charge off accounts, late payments, repossessions, evictions, student loans, bankruptcies and more! I am most proud of being able to help and assist different celebrities & well known public figures here in Atlanta, but also being able to help those that are truly in need. Being able to make someone’s day knowing that they don’t have to feel low about having bad credit anymore and that what they once weren’t about to have, they can easily go obtain now. I’ve helped people with credit scores as low as 0 & 310 to even helping those with 750+ scores; there is always room for improvement. What sets me apart from other companies or consultants is that I do not sugarcoat anything to my [inquiring] clients and I let them know the “gameplan” we are going to follow to become successful on the journey of them obtaining their financial freedom. I also have experienced a few hardships as stated earlier, so not only can I relate and sympathize, I can make sure to take care of the job at hand. I sometimes feel strongly that someone who hasn’t felt or gone through the same or closely related to feeling/struggle can’t help nor understand where another could be coming from or have gone through, but I most definitely have and do.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I don’t have an one favorite memory but if I had to narrow it down to a few, I definitely have three in mind. My favorite memories from my childhood would have to be when I received a brand new electric guitar from my mother and grandmother on Christmas morning in 2008. I made sure to practice and play with every single day and was so grateful for it. That was the catalyst of my guitar/music career in high school & college. Winning tickets to my first WWE SmackDown and ECW wrestling event at the then, Phillips Arena, in 6th, 7th grade. Wrestling was that “IT” thing, besides video games, that practically ran a pre-teen’s life, especially during those middle school days, I didn’t get to see my favorite wrestler John Cena at the time, but seeing Batista, the Undertaker and all the pyrotechnics definitely made up for it. My last favorite childhood memory would have to be me walking across that stage in 12th grade to graduate and receive my diploma from DeKalb School of the Arts. My high school started at 8th grade and I would have to say that those were the best five years that I possibly could ask for, especially having the friends & peers, teachers and staff I did from 2008 to 2013.
