Meet Corey Knott of HD Productions Network in Alpharetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Knott.

Corey Knott, a native of Nashville TN, attended and graduated from The University of Memphis in 2009 with his Bachelors of Fine Arts. Studying theatre, Knott’s love for storytelling ran deeper and began writing his first series in 2013 which would be the Flagship of HD Productions Network. In the course of five years, Knott has created and Produced 6 Series. With over 23 Million YouTube Channel Views, Knott continues to produce films of color… Knott swears by the company’s motto. “We Do Films That You Can Feel.” As of July 2019, Knott has produced over 250 episodes of original content, independently. Knott was recently Honored with a Community MVP Leadership Award for his influence. Huge congratulations to Knott and his team on snagging six nominations at The Capital City Awards.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey was very rough. Upon moving to ATL to expand, I lost my job after months of getting settled. My mother who stepped in to pay my bills told me that she could no longer assist. Depressed, I started to pack up my apartment and I got a call from a close friend who introduced me to Vimeo. For years I had produced all my content for free on Youtube. I was asked to put my content on Vimeo and to charge the fans to watch my content. I was told to trust the process and believe in myself. It worked. I haven’t worked a 9-5 in two years. The challenges I face are financially related. I’m no STARZ or HBO so if I really want the best content, I have to create shows to make shows if that makes sense.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with HD Productions Network – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
HD Productions Network was founded in 2013 by Corey Knott. Knott serves as CEO, Executive Director & Producer.

HD Productions Network is a production company known to produce films of color intended for LGBTQ audiences. I would have to say I am a pretty proud producer. To have millions of fans internationally that tune in to watch HD Productions Network is humbling within itself. I would have to say the way I package my series will always keep HDP in a different lane from other production companies producing same gender loving content. Image is everything. I’m very detailed when it comes to fonts, the tone of the series. I like to make sure that each series look is different and has a different aesthetic. It’s pretty safe to say that HD Productions Network is known for its juicy plot twist and killer cliffhangers. As of July 2019, HD Productions Network has 23 Million Youtube Views and his launched a website and App available in Google and Apple Store.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for HD Productions Network in the near future is to move to Syndicated television. Im looking to shop my newer content to Television and Digital platforms such as Netflix and Hulu. I plan to breathe life back into soap genre storytelling within the primetime arena.
