Meet Shanteria Maddox of Photo Ready Productions in East Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanteria Maddox.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been super passionate about photography my entire life. I would always love to be in front of the camera: smiling, giving personality, & taking memorable pictures. As I began to get older, I got more & more serious. I would style people around me, give them poses & direct them what to do in the picture. Everyone knew that if “photo ready” took your pictures, they were going to come out great, I was always that friend. I would even put “photo ready productions” at the bottom of the picture, not knowing I would later have an official business with this name. As time progressed, I started planning a real deal photography business. I started thinking of logos, thinking of business names & generally planning out what I wanted to do. After going through many months of planning I decided to give my company the nickname I have had for years “photo ready”. I ended up registering my business, choosing a logo, making business cards & as soon as I did this, I began to get booked quickly!!! I believe this happened due to people knowing how passionate I am & always have been about photography & how creative my mind can flow. This is only the beginning to a big thing!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been always been smooth. I had to begin budgeting quicker than usual & differently as my demand increased, investing & most of all branding myself. Sometimes deciding where to shoot can be stressful & also just overall managing the shoot & being in control beginning to in. Once you overcome basic obstacles at the start, you will begin mastering your art & going full throttle. I teach myself something new everyday.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Photo Ready Productions, L.L.C – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company photo ready productions was spoken upon for years. I officially got my first booking in October 2018 & have been doing numbers since. My company is very versatile in services. I don’t exactly have a specialization because I want to remain versatile as possible! I plan to keep people on their toes & not produce the same kind of shoots every time & that sets me apart from many other photographers. Many focus on one style of photography or have specifics on what they shoot, while I shoot anything from newborns to elderly, from nature to parties. I do not take off days in learning several styles of photography. I get out & test shoot almost everyday. I practice video visuals, portraits, & several other types of services I can possibly offer. I am proud that I followed my dream and that I am going full throttle to expand my business! I am all gas & no breaks when it comes to quality & making my customers/onlookers happy!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to definitely open up my very own studio, have huge events, clothing, etc. I plan to network & go as far as I can go with my company & I am going to do just that!
