Today we’d like to introduce you to Hasani Vibez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hasani. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At six years old, I discovered my passion for art and music. I would have visions of standing on stage, wearing a black suit, and performing under the spotlight before millions of people signing and screaming one my songs. I love music. I have grown up around music, played musical instruments in school and sang in my church children’s choir. A few of my mother’s favorite R & B artists are Luther Vandross and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and many gospel artists. I would listen to these artists while riding in the car and would just vibe with the beat. My mom found a CD collection of some Jackson Five songs, as well as Michael Jackson solo albums. I fell instantly for dancing and listening to Michael Jackson. We would play the Wii game where our family would challenge each other and dance to Michael Jackson’s music and do his famous moves. That was a lot of fun!
My love for the Arts is something that just comes to me naturally. My parents would take my sister and me to visit museums. It is always astounding to me to see beautiful art pieces, paintings, sculptures and drawings come to life in museums and other venues. I was in kindergarten at Johnson’s Learning Center in Decatur, GA when I began drawing with precision and even creating my own comic books with my very own super heroes’ and character illustrations. During my early years in school at Johnson’s, we were always doing a special project and creating a poster. So, I had plenty of fun creating my boards and doing extra. My father, from time to time, would perform spoken word. I started writing my own poetic words but wasn’t trying to be poetic. I just liked the flow and how the music made my words pop. I started sharing my spoken word pieces and people really loved it. Now I have performed spoken word at various events upon requests, as well as sing.
I remember when I was in the 8th grade; I would listen to Jacquees a lot. Well, I thought that I sounded a lot like him but everyone else just laughed at me. When I started singing, it was a big surprise to a lot of people, even my family. We have singers in the family, and my sister has always been the singer, but no one thought I was serious about it. I was laughed at, so that made me put the singing down and focus on sports; mostly perfecting my football and soccer skills. I continued with my visual art and drawings. Throughout my years of high school, until my second semester of my senior year. I won awards for my artistic drawings also. However, I was laughed at and misunderstood when it came to my music. I decided to just put everything out there and go for it. I was always trying to “fit-in” and “worried about what my classmates thought”.
Later, after going through so much my senior year and suffering during one of the worse injuries on the football field at the time I was named a top player. After a really bad tear of my ACL and LCL, I needed surgery and was out of the game of football and soccer for the remainder of my senior year. I thought it was all over for me and just started writing again while recuperating and found that music brought life to me again. Being able to write, sing and create music, along with my strong relationship with God, I pulled myself together and put my music “A Message for a Queen” on SoundCloud. It got great reviews and people really liked the first song. That is when I decided to pursue my music and go with the name ‘Hasani Vibez”. Now everyone sings my signature line, “It’s Hasani! Hasani Viibez yea, yea, yea!”
At 17 years old, as Hasani Vibez, I started my singing career in October of 2018. I debuted with my hit single, “A Message for a Queen” on October 1st. My first live show appearance was on October 14th for Arabia Mountain High School homecoming dance. Now with multiple performances under my belt, Hasani Vibez is a natural on stage and has a presence that grabs the audience attention at the moment of hitting the stage. I was featured as an opening act for SB Skooly at the Old Club Q. Later, I did an opening performance for Peso Montana and Calboy at the Club. I have also opened for Mr. Browney Soulman at Under the Coach as well as performed with artists MAKO Girls and JK at Arabia Mountain High School Fashion Show. I have done live radio interviews with Queen at WQEB 97.3, Skeem Beatz Radio Family and live-streamed interview on YouTube with Roc da Mic with Smoke and EJene.
Has it been a smooth road?
It is not a smooth road and I know there are many, many more bumps to come. As I have been told, it is not about how talented you are or how creative you are, it is about putting in the work, preparation, being smart and making good decisions. That is what I want to do and am trying to do. It is a struggle and financially challenging for me and my family right now. My mom is trying to help me, as well as helping me get to the right places and right people in the industry. Not being able to connect with and afford additional lessons to hone my voice skills, go to a studio for time to make and produce any CDs or have any promotional materials is a huge deal and we do not have the funds to do so.
It has also not been easy particularly since graduating from high school in May. I have been preparing to attend college. I was blessed to receive a soccer scholarship to attend college this fall and I start in August. I intend to definitely focus on my soccer skills and game; however, I also plan to incorporate studying music and continue writing while in college. Also, everyone still will not believe in my dream or support my vision. But, I realize that it is my dream and my vision, and I will continue doing something that I enjoy and love. I will embrace the challenges that may come my way and keep.
I already know when the world hears about me… all you will hear randomly is “You are now catching some… “Hasani Vibez yea yea yea”. That is my signature way of singing my songs. Also, there are a group of supporters called “The Vibez Tribe”. I really appreciate the following and love they show me on social media.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
The songs that I have been able to put on the internet are getting noticed.

As a young artist, I want to learn as much as I can learn and do as much as I can do to inspire others, possibly the world. I see this as an opportunity to spread the message of hope, joy and love in small way, but to a much larger arena. I wish to use my new found resources to help inspire people who likewise have a positive message to share with the world. The world is overdue for a new age of love.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the City of Atlanta and the metro area. It is beautiful to see at night time when the city lights are all lite up.
If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
I believe the most difficult aspect of getting into the music and singing industry is to keep the right people who support you around you, pray and seek proper guidance and advice. Often times, people would let a crowd of folks’ adulation be mistaken for love and call it fame. I aim not to let that happen. Celebrity drives a lot of people crazy. I think I could handle it because I have the right mother backing me and helping me to keep the main thing the main thing. Time is patience and patience is preparation. I do understand there is a process, but at the same time I do not want to miss any opportunities that God will put forth for me to succeed. My long term plan? I want to do it all. I want to write my own songs, write and do my spoken word, produce music and author / illustrate a book, model and act. I want to inspire and change the world with positive messages.
