Meet Antoine Meeks of Carpet Transformers in Grayson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Meeks.

Antoine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Back in 1994 I hired a cleaning company to come out & clean one of my sofas & when the technician got there he began to clean my sofa & I noticed that the liner started to bleed. I then called the owner (Brian Ausley) & he appreciated the way that I had handled the situation & offered me a position handling customer complaints. Once I learned of the type of money the carpet techs were making, I wanted to learn how to properly service carpets! I then took some classes & became certified in cleaning, water restoration, & carpet repairs. In 1996, I started my own company (ABLE Carpet Cleaning) A Better Living Environment. So, from 1996 to about 2001, I went from running my business literally out of the back of my 1997 Buick Lasebre to I owning 3 vans & a truck with about 4 crews. We serviced metro Atlanta & surrounding areas as well, we provided new construction services. In 2002, I dissolved the business to start a new career in the mortgage industry in which I became very successful in that industry as a loan originator & soon to follow I became a mortgage investor/broker. (Primetime Mortgages) 2008 when the mortgage meltdown hit I was forced to do something else to earn a living. I went into corporate America (AT&T) worked retail for a few years & I met a customer whom I befriended, she got me a position with (BellSouth) selling print & digital advertising to small businesses.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a pretty steady ride to this point, nothing really major just small speed bumps normal business stuff.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Carpet Transformers – what should we know?
In 2011, I started Carpet Transformers. My daughter who was 14 at the time came up with the name. Carpet Transformers is very fitting because of the services that we offer.
