Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Mitchell.
Kiera, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey with YouTube started back in 2009. I remember watching some of the very first video posted on YouTube. I began making dancing videos in 2010 with my sister. By 2013, I completely stopped watching television and YouTube became my source of entertainment. I would always say one day I’m going to start my own channel again and in December of 2018, I did exactly that. I became by vlogging my birthday weekend. From there my channel began to flourish. Now, I post at least 2 to 3 times a week. I vlog my life on the weekends from birthday parties I attend to brunch and girl talk with my girls. I film sit down videos about some of the things I have been through in my life as well. I use YouTube as my personal diary. It is where I go to be authentically me. I don’t have to hold back. I can be who I really am and I love that. YouTube is my outlet. I love hearing from my subscribers. They are like an extended family to me. I use to be that girl that watched other YouTubers do what I wanted to do and now, I’m living my dream.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey to starting my channel wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be but it is definitely rewarding. I struggled with thinking no one would watch my videos and with being comfortable in front of the camera. Now my views are growing every day. I’m completely at ease in front of the camera too.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a YouTuber. I called myself a Lifestyle Vlogger. I love all things beauty, fashion, food, and fun. I am most proud of how far I have come in so little time. It’s not an easy job but it’s slap fulfilling. What sets me apart from other is my personality. I’m authentic. I’m everybody’s favorite homegirl. That’s how I want my subscribers to relate and feel about me.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My friends and my followers are who I would like to thank for getting me this far. Without their constant support (reposting my videos, like, commenting and subscribing, sharing my page), I would not be this far.
