Meet Hope Searcy of Anointed Hands Hair Salon in Forest Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Searcy.

Hope, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am also known as HopeDaHairologist. I been in the hair industry over 20plus years. I totally believe I have a very awesome gift in my hands. Owner of Anointed Hands Hair Salon Atl, also Anointed Hands New Jersey, newly author of a book called Behind the chair, A Stylist Story, and just launched a new product The Ultimate Release Lace Glue Remover. When I gave God my “Yes” to his plan for my life, and not the plan I planned for my life, I regained my purpose and now receiving all the promises he made me. My journey/ testimony was challenging but I knew I was called and built for what was to come. Determination and perseverance was my way to success. I am not a quitter so quitting was never an option for me, even when things didn’t look favorable. I always remain faithful and optimistic to every task that came my way…

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were many challenging moments. One that is so vivid. When I first open my salon, had a full staff all booth was full and three months into a three years contract with the leasing company everyone left. I was left with one income and three households to manage. My faith in God and trusting his plan was the only thing I could rely on. I encourage you always go with a God Plan and not a Good Plan. It’s a big difference. I survived the contract!

Please tell us about Anointed Hands Hair Salon.
Anointed Hands Hair Salon is not just a salon. I believe it’s a ministry within itself. Most of my clients has been with me from the very beginning of my career. I still received at least three to five new client referral weekly even up to this day. I specialize in great service, making sure I properly schedule and get my clients in and out the shop in a decent time. I believe that’s why I am very successful and that’s what set me apart from other salons. Managing time is very important to me.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite memory from being a child is every Christmas my mom will buy me and my sister barbie dolls, and before the end of the day my dolls hair will be cut and colored with our kool-aid we suppose to be drinking for dinner.
