Meet Kristan Hunter of Kouture Kreations by Kristan in Snellville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristan Hunter.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a Georgia peach, born and raised. I attended Lithonia High School, and graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and minor in Sociology. I’m also a licensed master cosmetologist. I’ve always had an extroverted, bubbly, go getter personality, and a love for all things party. Unfortunately having a birthday that’s three days after Christmas made it very problematic to have my own big celebration as a child, but it’s also what fueled my passion for event planning. I’ve always wanted to ensure that everyone around me had an amazing celebration on the one day out of the year that should be all about you; your birthday. From there is where Kouture Kreations by Kristan began.

I initially started my company planning parties for my children and relatives, and finally decided to go ahead and truly make my entrepreneurial dreams a reality. Kouture Kreations by Kristan specializes in birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, dinner parties, corporate events and more. We also offer our Kouture Kidz packages for custom children’s parties as well. We’re your one stop shop for all things Kouture!! It’s been such a rewarding experience to be able to do what I’m truly passionate about. I couldn’t be more blessed with the amount of encouragement and support that I’ve received as I learn and grow in my entrepreneurial endeavors.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think any road as a business owner is smooth, especially if you’ve never had that experience before because its uncharted territory. You have no idea what to really expect, you just have to try to be as prepared as possible, but also recognize that you’ll make mistakes along the way. Mistakes are inevitable, but they help you learn and grow; and they mold you into the boss that you truly are!

For me, my main struggle was finding balance. I have a full-time job, a family, and my event planning company, so ensuring that I have the time to dedicate to it all is paramount to me. I wish there were more hours in the day, or that I could clone myself sometimes, but since none of that is an option, I just try to make sure I always make optimal use of my time. There are alot of late nights and early mornings, but I love what I do so to me it’s all worth it!!

Please tell us about Kouture Kreations by Kristan.
Kouture Kreations by Kristan is a full-service event planning company where we always make our clients vision a reality. We specialize in creative event design and luxury balloon décor for any occasion. We love planning events for all of our clients but we especially love our Kouture Kidz. Children’s parties just have a certain magic to them that just can’t be explained. What truly sets my company apart from others is my true passion and love for what I do. I strive to ensure that anything that my name is attached to will always exude perfection; I expect and give nothing less. I always go the extra mile to ensure my events exceed my client’s expectations.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would do anything differently if I had to start over again. I’m a firm believer that God does things in His timing and where I’m at right now is exactly where he wants me to be. What’s for me is for me and I’m excited to see where He takes me and my company.
