Meet Gabriel Smith of M.K. Bey Private Equity in South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Smith.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gabriel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So it all started when I was in grade school during the summer breaks. My uncle Nathan Smith Jr would bring me along with him and his son Nathan Smith III to repair & install garages for residential & commercial properties for his company J.R.Doors. From that moment forward, I’ve always known that I wanted to be able to make money on my own terms. In middle school, my sister’s father operated and managed 3 Checkers franchises and he taught me about the finances and daily operation for maintaining a successful business. In 2006, I enlisted into the United States Army and throughout my service, it strengthened my knowledge & skills to be a better entrepreneur. After my service, I became more aware of Nutrition & my diet because of Dr. Sebi. I became a huge fan of smoothies & juices and the benefits from consuming. I then began to make juices and sell them locally.

Later, I became involved in political injustice due to Miko Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Because of that, I networked with a lot of influential & like-minded entrepreneurs locally & nationwide. I took on leadership roles during that time with #ItsBiggerThanYou & The Community. During those times, I was offering free Health Events which focused on Physical fitness, Self Defense, Yoga & Nutrition. Later on, I branched off & focused on highlighting & empowering business owners locally & nationwide. I helped create a social media campaign & started a Black Business Expo on Old National Highway which gained huge success. I worked with and financed a company called mixtape messiah daily which focused on artist branding, development and management. Couple of years later and currently I invested into becoming a distributor for Sienna Sauce, coining the name “Sauce Man” for myself. I am currently distributing for Food For The Brain Now which is a company that manufactures & distributes tobacco products & apparel. I am currently a partner with J. R. Doors. We are currently seeking to invest & partner with other business owners & entrepreneurs.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I love obstacles & challenges because I feel as tho each 1 prepares you for the next journey and/or level in your life. Doing J. R. Doors was tough because it was long working in this Georgia Heat throughout the summer and finishes jobs as quick and efficiently as possible because we were getting paid by the job not by how long it takes to complete task. Working under my stepfather at Checkers biggest obstacle was telling adults what to do and having accurate numbers for accounting & logistics. While in the military it was very tough to be away from my loved ones for long periods of time. Making juices was a lil tough because of the scarcity of produce I used, shelf life & customer retention, Free health events became tough when I lost access to transportation, organizing in the community was a difficult because of everybody didn’t see eye to eye and egos got in the way. Working with Mixtape Messiah Daily was working with people without budgets. Difficulties with Sienna Sauce is getting product in retail stores and creating full automation.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the M.K. Bey Private Equity story. Tell us more about the business.
We find great opportunities & companies to invest in. We are known for distributing & investing into Sienna Sauce, we are known for collaborating with other businesses and helping them take their company & ideas to the next level. I’m proud of our consistency, dedication, integrity & how far we’ve come. Our marketing, branding & network sets us apart from others.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I personally feel like we aren’t lucky. It’s all blessings and things have been aligned with our goals. Kinda hard to give credit to luck after all the blood sweat & tears we’ve put forward and continue to put forward.
