Meet Shanterria Earley of Travel Divas in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanterria Earley.

Shanterria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Travel has always been my passion, and I realized how much it was when it started becoming bigger than a hobby. Starting my travel days from booking day trips to Savannah and bus trips to New Orleans, the response from women, more specifically Black women, was eye-opening. I trusted my craft of being able to connect Black women to destinations they only read about, to creating itineraries that not only enable groups as large as 200 travelers to travel but also empower the solo traveler.

Travel Divas has been in business now 12 years with over 75, 000 followers, more than 13, 000 happy travelers and over 27 countries visited. We are constantly adding new places to trek to around the world while creating inclusive environments for women to enjoy.

Every day I get to interact with women from all over the country looking forward to enjoying their travel time while being apart of Travel Divas family, it can’t ever get better than that!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There will always be obstacles and deviations from the original plan or idea, but that is what has made Travel Divas successful. The ability to learn, reroute and grow from those obstacles is what gives me the confidence in knowing what we offer is important.

Leaving a stable, well paying and gratifying professional job was uncomfortable and was a big decision. However, the decision to NOT pursue what was fulfilling and that creates a place that gives meaning to Women Traveling would’ve been more detrimental.

Travel Divas – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Travel Divas is an award-winning travel company based in Atlanta, GA that specializes in group travel.

Our unique concept is, we create travel events around the world and host them ourselves, making sure the client has the best experience from the moment they book with us until they return home from their experience. Creating private Facebook groups to prepare our clients as well as gift packages as a Thank You for utilizing our services adds that special touch. Every single client is important to us and it is important they know that.

We host many travel events throughout the year, to locations all around the world, with epic itineraries created in-house to give the client their bucket list dreams.

All of our travel events are open to anyone that would like to attend but 95% of all our attendees are African-American women from the United States. Since we are a travel company we make all the travel reservations, take all payments for travel, manage the reservations and provide travel assistance before, during and after travel.

Our objective is to form a global sisterhood focused on sharing of travel and all its experiences, and that makes me proud because when the clients get together while traveling, pure Magic happens.

The mere fact that we handle all aspects of the travel experience to even include Travel Divas staff to accompany our clients on every single trip sets precedence for quality service.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Being able to enjoy the work and give it to the client and see the gratification makes me Successful. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing a group of clients accomplish their bucket list travels and remember it for life because of the experience. I am grateful for it all.
