So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated from school in 2006 and quickly got pregnant. I always knew I wanted to work- so after my daughter was born I was yearning to do something. I got a job doing 3D/4D ultrasounds and satiated my craving for working by doing so about 40 hours a month. I loved everything about the business so at the ripe old age of 24- I decided to open a business. I had NO clue how to run one, I just knew I had the passion and work ethic to be successful. My second “baby” was born in 2008- First Impression. Very quickly we became “the” Ultrasound studio of north Georgia! 9 years later we recently moved into a new and bigger office to serve our clientele. We see about 200 pregnant mommies per month! We are a full service “pregnancy spa” where we feature prenatal massage, 3D/4D Ultrasound, the new HD live Ultrasound and a maternity and baby boutique!!!
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any new business, it takes time to get your name out there. We opened in the beginning of the horrible recession and 2.5 years in we faced either closing our doors or revamping. We chose to power on and here we are 9 years later busier then we have ever been!

We specialize in all things baby!! From the ever cute- peek inside mom’s belly, to the relaxing massage to the custom boutique clothes we are different than any typical baby store you will find. For the entire visit to First Impression, it’s all about Mom! We are so proud that as an elective, self-pay facility we are busier then we have ever been!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
This is an amazing up in “Cumming” place to start a business. We are located right off the ever popular exit 13 on 400. It is a young, fun area with a lot of families. There is easy access to the highway and enough traffic coming thru that it is a great place to own a business.
