Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Goodin.
Michelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I knew at the age of 16, I wanted to inspire and encourage, at the time, girls my age and as I got older women. I often felt there was a certain box women were put in. I just like many women have made terrible dating choices, liked the bad boys and failed to give myself a little more self-love.
I always felt as though women were often pinned against each other and it was all about getting the man, marry him and have a baby.
But what about the women who already had the baby? Or didn’t want marriage? Or just we’re trying to figure out womanhood altogether.
I was her!
My desire and passion is to let women know you aren’t alone nor are you behind because you did it a different way.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Heck no!
Ha! Omg! Let me tell you, I dated the bad boys on and off, thinking I had the power to change him into the “good guy.”
Not a chance. I ended up losing myself in the process.
I was trying to prove myself to someone who wasn’t even capable of seeing the type of woman I was. Granted I was in my early 20s but I knew I was smart, ambitious, etc.
But not even just dating, figuring out who Michelle was and even still now figuring that ish out, it’s hard and ever-changing.
Evolution is constant.
Some days it’s great, other days I’m like uhh I just want to stay in bed, watch golden girls and eat lemon pepper wings.
My advice, forgive yourself and meet yourself where you are! You are not perfect that’s fine. Discovering who you are takes time, give yourself that time and be patient.
We’d love to hear more about Sincerely Michelle and Deep Waters and Sunflowers.
I started Sincerely Michelle a few years ago, this was my blog. There you could find tips on self-love, relationships and girl boss encouragement.
I took a hiatus, long hiatus.
So now, I’m back!
Sincerely Michelle is still my first love, I’m a certified life coach and my goal is to assist in the journey to helping women change the narrative of their lives.
I’m launching a new community titled deep waters and sunflowers, it’s for women who are in need of healing from divorce and such. It’s a great support group, to be transparent, laugh and heal.
Both will be relaunching in January 2020, I’m really excited.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I wrote a book, it’s called not power of the p- lessons in life and love women can relate to.
It’s a great book, it’s funny and real.
It’s again about letting know they are not alone and I’ve made the same mistakes they have and I made it through.
I have a podcast called a girl can dream.
It’s learning how to navigate through womanhood.
