Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsha Bryant.
Marsha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m born in London England, the 4th child of 5 from Immigrant parents from Ghana and Jamaica. I’ve always had a burning desire to be creative and share my talents with the world. I love to push myself and enjoy the feeling of breaking boundaries.
I started making music in a rough part of East London in a rap group. I then went solo and never looked back. I networked and pushed myself until I worked with some of the greatest rap artists in the world.
My sister and I first started traveling to America from London when we were 16 and 17 years old, one day we hustled our way into Atlantic Records office in New York and sat in the office with their A&R’s and started rapping. They said they loved my style and drive and that I needed a manager. On that day, my 17-year-old sister became my manager and biggest supporter. I did many open mics and ground root networking.
My first big break was recording with Shady Records producer Denaun Porter. I also recorded a record on Lil Wayne’s Album/mixtape. I’ve since then worked with Grammy-winning and multi-platinum selling producers, including Deezle and Turbo The Great.
I featured on TV shows in the UK and had my music videos playlisted on BET. I did all this whilst being an Independent artist, just my sister and I knocking down doors and pushing boundaries.
I moved to Atlanta to expand my business, here is where I ventured into Real Estate, it’s a great, exciting industry that’s always growing and changing.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wish I could say that my road has been smooth but it’s been far from a cruise on the highway. I found myself loosing everything in order to gain it all.
I first left the UK with the promise of a major record deal, I left everything behind in the UK, left my friends and family and took the last little bit of money that I had to follow this venture that I believed to be life-changing. Life-changing it was. The deal fell through, which left me broke, sleeping on strangers couches, I was in a new country all alone, with no money for a return ticket back. That was a really challenging time for me, I had to learn resilience, strength, perseverance and survival skills.
Can you imagine one day, working in the best studios in New York, with grammy-winning producers, the next being homeless and asking people if you can sleep on their couches? My family, my friends, my backbone were all in the UK. I had no one to lean on, so I had to meet new people. I don’t know if pride got in the way of me going back to London sooner or thinking that things will eventually work out. I ended up going back to London after several months of tribulations. My family were supportive and encouraged me to keep going.
A few years later, I tried the move again, this time I did it not move because of the promise that someone was giving me, but because of a promise I gave to myself, I chose to be focused, driven, self-reliant and have faith to do my best that I can in everything I do in life. This time around my journey has been great.
My career is flourishing and growing and believe its a testament to not give up on dreams and to never stop growing.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is such an awesome city, great southern hospitality. There’s no other city that has the same qualities as Atlanta. Being in Atlanta makes me feel like dreams can become a reality. There are so many creative people and entrepreneurs to build and network with. I love the blend between city and country living and the food in Atlanta is AMAZING!!
