Meet Kendra Cochran of KCoFaces Beauty in East Point

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Cochran.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kendra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started for me back at home in Flint, Michigan in high school. I was apart of a singing group. We had no budget for makeup so our A&R took us to the MAC store to get what we needed for a full face application. She had us meet with a makeup artist who was and still a notable in the game teach us how to properly apply our makeup. It was that moment I knew this is what I wanted to do and somehow, it would be my purpose in life. I moved to Atlanta in 2005 and worked for every makeup counter; it was in the mall to working my way up and working independently, forming KCoFaces. I had several clients from your everyday working women to working in tv and film. Makeup has taking me all over the states and oversees. It wasn’t until 2014, I told my best friends I wanted to elevate myself and my brand and go to school to be an Esthetician. Having been in the industry some years by this time, I would come across compromised skin and wanted to be able to help my clients achieve healthy skin under their makeup. After that conversation, I was in school a month later and it’s been nothing but glowing faces AND beautiful makeup for my clients.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When God gives you a purpose, you better know that road won’t be easy, but the reward is so fulfilling. However, being an Esthetician and Makeup Artist comes easy as it’s something I love to do. If I can’t figure it out right away I’ll keep trying and trying until I do… I would say being an entrepreneur in this business is where the struggle comes in. This is a business of service and in the world of all things social media with living in Atlanta you have to stay on your A game and ahead of the curve. Atlanta is home to some of the most talented people in the world who have their hands in this industry. So not only do you have to set yourself apart with marketing but constantly keep clients intrigued to come back and keep choosing you. These challenges are tough but my support system is even tougher and they keep my going.

KCoFaces Beauty has been working for almost 12 years. As an Esthetician and Makeup Artist I specialize in Facials, Makeup, Full Body Waxing, Permanent Makeup, and Brows. KCoFaces Beauty is known for the “KCo Glow” Facial/Chemical Peels that leave your skin glowing and healthy. I’m also known natural makeup application that you can wear from day to night. I’m most proud of my company for constantly effecting the lives that are changed, whether it’s from healing problematic skin or making someone cry happy tears after getting their makeup done. What sets me apart from others is I’m from a city where the water us with lead and somehow, we come out as diamonds. We always set to achieve and be the best at what we do. My personality mixed in with my gifts are sure to spark your attention. I create an amazing environment for clients that it’s more than just a “facial” or “wax”. It’s an experience they’ll never forget.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My ability to meet people where they are! People want to feel comfortable and welcome. In this field, you definitely need to know your craft and trust me your clients can tell if you do or don’t. Staying up to date and constantly learning gives you even more confidence as treat your client in return makes them feel safe with you. I don’t care if you’re from Buckhead or Bankhead. I’m going to treat everyone as if I could be their next-door neighbor!
