Delmeka, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a shampoo assistant for a locally well-known hairstylist back in 2006. It didn’t take long for my passion for the beauty industry to fully ignite. Moving up from assistant to apprentice and building my own clientele came naturally. It was in 2008 that I experienced my break out year as a stylist, specializing in the newest trend at the time; custom lace hair units. Today, I’m the owner and operator of Exotic Hair Expo Atl. specializing in stock and custom lace front and full lace units and customized installations. We are an Atlanta online-based hairtique with a brick and mortal location soon to come.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles I’ve experienced along the way been competing with the competitive price point of the beauty stores.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Exotic Hair Expo – what should we know?
Exotic Hair Expo is a wholesale and retail supplier of luxury hair units as well as bundles. As a company, we are most proud of our customer service, attentiveness as well as the ability to make the customer feel comfortable. We service a number of hair loss patients, and their self-esteem is a major focus for us. One key factor that sets us apart from similar companies is our mobile hairstyling and delivery services.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Some of the Key factors that are important to the success of Exotic Hair Expo are innovation and consistency. It’s important that we stay a brisk of new trends in the ever-growing hair industry.
