Meet Terri Napier of Vibe420 in downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terri Napier.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started over a year ago, I’ve always had brand ideas but I never pushed them further than a logo because I would get caught up in work and being a student and I’d convince myself it wouldn’t work. But the day I came up with Vibe 420, it just resonated with me because it’s a part of who I am being a believer in positive vibes and giving off good energy whenever possible as well as being an advocate for marijuana which is where the 420 stems from.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s definitely been a bumpy ride, I just see it as part of the journey. If it was a smooth road, everyone would do it. Some of the struggles I’ve experienced are financial ones and just getting the name out there. I’ve invested as much of my money as I’m able to into this brand as well as time into creating designs. I’m still in college so that has expenses of its own as well as paying rent every month while still trying to maintain some sort of social life. I try my best to work with what I have but it sets me back sometimes.

Vibe420 – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At Vibe420, I work to create designs that create a visual experience that emanates emotion. So far, I’ve released the logo Ts and 3 designs one which is known as the soul reader which is an image that focuses on the eyes of an Owl one of my favorite animals. My goal for the brand is to be able to sponsor skateboarders and help put them on the map. Skateboarding has always been a passion of mine and the industry is not an easy one to become a professional in or get your name out there. Sponsors are able to help elevate these athletes and get them to the next level in getting recognized and that’s what I want to be able to do while simultaneously creating streetwear that people truly enjoy wearing.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as being able to decide to follow your passion and to have the luxury of being able to support yourself financially with whatever your passion is. Successful to me is being able to do what you love. A lot of people tend to follow a path that they aren’t passionate about and wake up in the morning feeling unfulfilled. When it comes to Vibe, I’m able to combine more than one of my passions, it’s sort of an umbrella for all the things I really enjoy doing such as photography, skateboarding and designing.
