Meet Lisa Goodnight of L.V’s Magical Affairs in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Goodnight.

With over three decades of service in the catering and entertainment industries, businesswoman Lisa Goodnight decided to utilize her knowledge and expertise to create a full-service hospitality firm, L.V.’s Magical Affairs. Since opening her company in the greater Atlanta area in 2009, Lisa has prided herself on making your dreams reality ~ literally!!

Lisa Goodnight was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Western School of Health & Business. Lisa also served our country in the United States Marine Corps. In her early years, Lisa would hang out in her grandfathers well- known neighborhood restaurant called “Eddie’s”, located in the historical Hill District of Pittsburgh. Lisa’s mother was known to host all of the family exquisite gatherings & Lisa would assist her every step of the way. This is where she developed the love for food, creativity & hosting. Prior to venturing off on her own, the longtime Georgia resident trained for over five years under several renowned celebrity chefs such as Chef Ashley and Chef Jason Ellis of “Hell’s Kitchen”, starting in an entry-level position. Lisa moved rapidly through the ranks to become a C.O.O. She is currently the C.E.O. of L.V.’s Magical Affairs. Lisa has had the pleasure to manage several local high-profile events for celebrities like Carol’s Daughter, Trina Braxton, Bobby V, Lil’ Scrappy, Trinidad James, Erica Pickett of Love & Hip Hop, Rodney Perry, Ludacris, Bow Wow, T-Pain, Ne-Yo, Jeezy, Ciara, L.L. Cool J, and athletes like Josh Smith, Adam “PacMan” Jones, Chris Webber, Chris Draft, William Moore of the Atlanta Falcons and Chad “Ochocino” Johnson. Her most recent high-profile event was for the Real Housewives of Atlanta. She had a cameo on Season 8, Episode 12 as the caterer for Kim Fields’s “beatless” brunch.

Amongst this impressive slew of celebrity clientele, Lisa has worked with several Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies, such as Microsoft and Fox 5. She also has catered to several prominent Atlanta physicians, such as Dr. Antwan Treadway, DMD, his wife Dr. Cassandra Treadway, MD, Dr. Portia Cater-Ellis, DDS, MS, Dr. Stephen Bankston, DMD, Dr. Brian Deas, DDS and his wife Pam Deas. Lastly, she has acquired clientele from celebrity brides, Tishana Jones, wife of Adam “PacMan” Jones, Keisha Draft, wife of Chris Draft and some of the best attorneys Atlanta has to offer. Lisa has combined her unique creativity with her love for the hospitality industry and expertise to ensure every event is a true MAGICAL AFFAIR!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding the right balance between work and family. Working for yourself can be a 24/7 gig leaving little to no time for family.

I’m a people pleaser and that sometimes can get in the way of running my business from my heart rather my mind.

L.V’s Magical Affairs is an all-inclusive boutique-style catering firm. Each recipe is prepared with the freshest and finest local ingredients available to us. We pride ourselves in creating mouthwatering cuisines presented in a picture perfect manner. L.V’s Magical Affairs have a very diverse menu selection and we can accommodate any and all dietary concerns/allergies. We are very passionate about our craft and cook from the heart verse recipe book. Our love can be tasted in every bite!

We are a dynamic husband and wife team that not only provide amazing cousines, we can provide any & ALL of your celebration desires. From planning to venue research, customized cakes/desserts, staffing, photography, photo booths, live bands, dj, florals, décor & more!!

Customer service and consistency is VERY important to us.

Pricing:

  • For full service buffet style catering our menus start at $30.00pp which includes a choice of two proteins, three sides, fresh baked bread and a beverage
  • Plated services start at $40.00pp
  • Professional, Uniformed Wait Staff $150.00 each
  • Certified Bartenders $180.00 each
  • Professional Photograhy start at $125/hr Photobooths start at $400.00
  • Live Bands $1500.00 and up
  • DJ Service start at $400.00
  • Sweets Table start at $350.00
  • Customized Centerpieces start at $35.00 each
