Meet Shannon Wells of Unlocking Your Success in McDonough

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Wells.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shannon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Early 2017, I was completely lost as a person – struggling mentally and emotionally not knowing which steps to take next. With that, I went on a year-long personal development journey in high hopes of finding my purpose. I later decided to publish a self-help book “The Key: Unlocking Your Success” so that others didn’t have to struggle as bad as I did.

Little did I know, that gave other people high expectations of me. People were asking me “What’s next”. At the time, I didn’t know what was next. I had unknowingly set the bar really high for myself.

That pushed me to starting a personal development blog which I ran for a year and had the amazing opportunity to take on and transform clients who were going through that same dark time that I had gone through. Up until that point, I had never thought about turning my blog into an actual consulting business, I was just using it as a “step-up” from my self-help book.

After running my personal development blog for a year while taking on clients, I realized that I was shockingly good at blogging and content creation. With that, I decided to make the switch to teaching other bloggers about blogging. I wanted others to transform lives on a massive level the same as I had.

Now, I’m a Blog Strategist & Coach! I love every second of it! My clients receive massive transformation while working with me. We work together to turn their blog into a business they love!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wouldn’t say that I’ve had what society considers really bad struggles, it’s mainly just mindset. Because I’m human, every now and then I struggle with impostor syndrome. Thoughts like “who am I to be teaching others”, “what if I look like an amateur”, “maybe this entire entrepreneurship thing is for other people but not for me.” I even sometimes think that I’m not fit to help others if I’m struggling with those thoughts.

What I’ve learned and am continuing to learn is that we’re all humans helping other humans. None of us have it fully together and if we did, we would be God. Lucky for us, that spot is already taken!

Entrepreneurship is never really a smooth road and I’m okay with that. I like the challenges, without them, it would be hard for me to evolve!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Unlocking Your Success story. Tell us more about your work.
I’m a Business Coach who specializes in blogging. I work mainly with passionate female bloggers teaching them strategies to go full-time. We work together to turn their blog into a fully functioning business. Blogging in the ancient past was seen as a hobby. Now, it has evolved into a career for many! The number of bloggers is expected to reach well over 31.7 million before 2021. That is absolutely phenomenal!

I must say that I’m most proud of my clients and the results they achieve. One of my clients Amber recently sent me a message that confirmed my strategies work “I think you may have changed my life!” That’s my real mission, to change lives! Seeing them and their vision transform from a caterpillar to a butterfly always warms my heart!

Before taking on a new client I always ask them “why me?” because I know there are plenty of other coaches to choose from. Without fail, they say “because you’re relatable”. I don’t pretend to be this perfect blogger/business owner who has it all together. I’m very transparent with my audience. They see the real me and because of that, the connection is built almost instantly. Before we start working together, they already feel like they know me. With strong rapport, they’re able to open up and share with me what they’re truly struggling with. It’s how I’m able to get them their major transformation!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not really a believer in good or bad “luck”. I think everything happens for a reason. I love the journey and I’m thankful for every season of my business!
