Meet Kirk Harris of Kaptain Kirk Clothing in Airport area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirk Harris.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kirk. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love of clothing began in the mid 80’s. During the 90’s I worked in apparel retail In ’06 I founded my first clothing line. In ’12 my journey led me to apparel decoration, and in ’14 I settled into my current position as president of Atlanta based Kaptain Kirk Clothing Co. My ultimate desire is to be a valued resource of knowledge and connections so that I may leave a legacy of people I’ve helped succeed.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not. Struggles that I personally have faced include financial hardships, emotional battles within and with others, physical hurdles, etc. You name the struggle if I did not face it exactly, I surely faced something in that family. When you hear people say find something you are passionate about, to me, that really means something you like or are good at, and you will do regardless of how bad it gets, destroyed you might feel inside, or with life in the way. It is going to take that kind of determination, and resilience, to keep moving forward when it takes a week to gain an inch worth of progress. It’s those who are able to withstand the challenges, overcome hurdles, and find ways around or through obstacles that are going to achieve their goals.

Kaptain Kirk Clothing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are an apparel decorating company. Our services include direct-to-garment printing, screen printing and embroidering such items as hats, shirts and jackets for branding, promotion, gifts, giveaways and merchandise. As a company, we are most proud of our on-time delivery record and our customer’s referrals. What sets us apart from most is our work ethic.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success in this industry, to me, is defined by those we help succeed. My markers are our clients. Every time one of our customers places another order, tells us about a compliment they received, remarks about an impressed staff or boss, receive a parent’s high five, or sends us a smiling picture, we have met our mark, because they are providing proof that we were able to help them achieve their goal.
