Meet DeMarcus Morrow of The Dreamaholic Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeMarcus Morrow.

DeMarcus, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my entrepreneur journey back in 2014 as a Sophomore at Troy University when I started as a social media intern for Undergrind Media which operated outside of Atlanta at the time. I developed my passion for brand building during my internship there and knew this was my calling. From 2014-2018 I went from being social media intern to doing branding and marketing for other companies. I decided in 2018 that it was time for a change when God told me to quit my job. I was hesitant at first, but after I received my completed branding package from my coach in August of 2018, I went to my job and quit. Launch Dreamaholic Agency the following day and have been doing full-time entrepreneurship ever since!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not and I say that in the humblest way possible. Being an entrepreneur definitely challenges you more than you would be on a job. It’s basically a competition against you to become a better version of yourself. Entrepreneurship is also a journey with you and God as well for you to continue the work of his will while he supplies your needs to elevate you. My hardest struggle was learning to stand firm on my business. Although we would love to help everybody, you have to realize that you’re running a business and this is your livelihood now.

The Dreamaholic Agency – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is Dreamaholic Agency where we specialize in Small Business Branding and Marketing consultations & Graphic Design as far as logos, flyers, business card design, and website design and development. The reason I started it is because when I was transitioning into a full-time entrepreneur, my funds were low. I never knew how expensive it was to actually start a business, let along the risk of meeting the wrong connections when you first start off. I didn’t want that for others. I saw a major need for a branding firm that was going to be reliable. That’s where I came in at.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I evaluate success based on not only my work but the work of my clients. In order for me to be considered successful, I have to make sure it’s my goal to make sure my clients accomplish their goals that needed to achieve both of our individual goals. I always say anyone can dream, but the hustle is sold separately.
