Meet 2wo tone of 100 House Entertainment in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to 2wo tone.

2wo, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My name is Twotone, I’m 29, from the southside(Clayco). I am the CEO of 100 House Ent Record label and iViral photography company. I have vitiligo and have had it since I was five years old. Vitiligo is how I got the artist name “2wotone”. I started taking music seriously during the time I spent incarcerated and began to use music as an outlet to tell my story and express myself. Music and photography have always been passions of mine, and I plan to leave a legacy through both.. Tragedy, triumph, and spirituality. God is why I’m here today.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As a child, I had vitiligo and growing up as a kid with vitiligo was rough because kids didn’t understand and in the 90s and early 2000s wasn’t too much awareness or knowledge of what vitiligo was at all. So growing up as a kid was rough at times socially, but the struggles that I faced with social acceptance led me to get the name that I ended up embracing and it made who I am today, “Twotone.” In my teenage years, I was in the streets and I fell victim to them and revived a 20 years sentence for robbery when I was 19 years old and served nine years in prison. During these times is when I found my love and passion for music.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the 100 House Entertainment story.
100 House Entertainment is my entertainment label. It was started by my brother “Parkway” Brandon Chevis, who was killed in 2016. 100 House Ent handles all music business for me and multiple artists of different genres. 100 describes the many things that are done under the umbrella of the company from music, video, fashion, and film. As a company right now, I am most proud of the song project we’ve been working on called “Beyoutiful,” which was made for people with vitiligo to uplift and encourage them to love themselves and accept themselves. Really proud to be representing vitiligo now an international stage at world vitiligo day June 27. And I think the true essence and vibe of a family is what sets 100 houses apart from anything else.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I truly think the music industry is changing now in a sense of the type of music that is being appreciated. I feel like the industry went through a period of empty music, like without substance and now I see a lot of music that people were pouring real stories into starting to be at the forefront again. Line the quality of music I think will shift in the years to come. I think people are starting to want real music again, like more than a beat a hook. I think people gone want real music again.
