Meet Taniah Rose of Rose Consulting Services in Metro Atlanta and Cobb County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taniah Rose.

Taniah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My first introduction to career services was as an undergraduate student at my alma mater, University at Albany, in Albany, New York. I had abruptly changed my major from Human Biology to Psychology. I had an idea of wanting a career in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or possibly Human Resources and after literally filing papers at a hospital, I interned at the University’s Career Services.

My supervisor was amazing, he quickly trained me on how to be hirable as an entry-level professional by ripping my resume apart, making me do hours of research, grant writing and meeting with students to counsel them on their career plans. It was the career counseling that I enjoyed the most. I worked with students on the creating and/or revamping of their resume, interview techniques and ensuring their classes, internships and volunteer work were in alignment with their future goals.

After earning my M.S in Human Resource Management and years of working in the field as at first a Hiring Manager to my current position as an Employee Relations/Performance Management specialist, I became the go-to person among my family and friends (and my friends’ friends) when it came to resumes, interviews, career jumps, career concerns and navigating the unknown of the professional world. Being a business owner was something that I always expected of myself and coupled with my Human Resource expertise, the establishment of Rose Consulting Services seemed like no-brainer. After about a year of planning, I (like a typical millennial) secured my social media handle in January of 2019, formed an LLC and then revealed my baby to the world in April of that year.

I would love to credit my growing success and steady flow of clients on my marketing, but that accolade belongs to my amazing clients! Word of mouth has seriously been my BEST FRIEND. So much so, that I have had consultations in the oddest of places, ranging from in my car, malls and even in chick-fil-a. It is rewarding to know that my work and its success is enough to attract future clients.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to entrepreneurship has not been smooth but it has been consistently unpredictable. My main struggle is the time-or lack thereof. Balancing my 9-5 with my own business combined with trying to have a social life and get rest has been a task that I am still learning to get a handle on. It is important that I maintain the expected level of service and time-frame that I promise clients, and sometimes that means my scheduled “down-time” may take a hit. However, I know this is a burden of the blessed and I am grateful to have clients who trust me with such an important duty.

Rose Consulting Services – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Rose Consulting Services’ (RCS) specialization is twofold: it first aims to provide career services and tools to clients to meet their professional development goals, and secondly it aims to provide a variety of human resources services to companies by analyzing its current HR programs and recommending solutions.

I believe what sets RCS apart from others is its collaborative piece, rather than just being a paid-for service that sees a flaw; whether it be in a resume, interview technique or HR Program and immediately rectifies it, Rose Consulting Services’ aims to work jointly with clients in order to coach them on improvements that can be made and why the improvement would benefit them. RCS really wants to equip clients with tools they can use for years to come.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m iffy about my logo. If I had to start over, I would rethink its look. Revamping my logo to appeal to different populations may be something that I do in the future.
