Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Antonio Pruitt.
Dr. Pruitt, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Before relocating to Atlanta, GA from Birmingham, AL I always knew I wanted to be go into private practice but wasn’t sure which route I sound take. Should I open a facility, franchise, or time share a facility with another PT or just simply operate as an Independent Contractor. After working several years as Director of Rehab for a SNF in Birmingham, AL and for a local hospital for 2.5 yrs. as Director Rehabilitation here in Atlanta I knew it was time to start my own practice. After consulting with another PT in the area who had just opened his own clinic in area I decided to time share the practice. After one year of time sharing my business Partner relocated to California and I decided to take over the practice.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Overall, it has been a smooth road. Some minor bumps and bruises along the way but that’s expected with every business. I would say the number one struggle is increasing the number of new patients that walk through my doors. Being a small privately owned practice in a city full of well-known corporations you have to work had to get the clientele.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was more of the quite reserved child. Being 6.5 years older than my sister (Tonyetta) I spent a lot of time playing alone and playing Doctor with imaginary friends lol. I guess you can say my interest has always been in the medical field. I graduated from the University of Alabama At Birmingham (UAB) in 2005 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT).
