Meet Kiera Winters of Blue Lotus Sacred Healing Place in Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Winters.

Kiera, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I started my Healing journey in 2015. I was struggling to have a baby with my husband after being married for three years at the time. I was going to my OBGYN and getting prescribed various medications that either made me sick or didn’t work. I decided that there had to be something that I could do on my own that would help me to conceive the baby my husband and I wanted, as well as get my body to a place of harmony so that it would be ready and able to carry a baby.

Meanwhile, a friend I went to high school with was inviting me out to a free yoga class called “Soular Sundayz” that was held every Sunday at West End Park. I declined multiple times lol. Well, he was persistent, and eventually, I went (just so he would leave me alone lol). But what I didn’t know was, that was the moment my life would change forever. I started attending those free yoga classes every Sunday, and slowly my body started healing of all the pain I was carrying in my hips and back, I started being aware of what products I was putting on my body and what foods I was putting in the body — to the point where I eliminated meat and processed foods from my diet and started using natural products.

This class taught me how to meditate and get quiet with myself. I started going into nature more and exploring crystals, candles and incense. I used those tools to meditate. I learned what the art of manifesting was and I started to incorporate doing that to manifest my goals and dreams into reality.

One day while on Instagram, I came across a post of a young lady talking about vaginal and womb detoxing. I had never heard of such a thing, but I was intrigued because I was manifesting a baby. I did my research, detoxed my womb, and continued to live a healthy, stress-free life. In the meantime, my at-home yoga practice had grown to the point to where I wanted to share my practice with others. I’d enrolled in yoga teacher training to become certified to teach Kemetic Yoga to others.

While in yoga teacher training in May 2016 on the day before graduation, I started to feel nauseated, but I didn’t pay it any attention because I figured since I’d been doing intense yoga for eight hours that day, I just needed food and rest. Later on, in the week, I’d decided to take a pregnancy test and it came back positive! I was so excited and proud of myself because I’d stayed focused and healed myself and manifested the child I had waited so long for. I didn’t mention that I was married at 19 to my first husband, and was told for over 12 years that I might not have a child, so for me to finally conceive without the help of a doctor, I was so grateful!

My son is now three years old. And my daughter is one — that’s right, I got pregnant with my daughter when my son was just nine months old, talking about a huge surprise lol. I’d started back teaching Kemetic Yoga at West End Park and a local Kemetic Yoga Studio in the West End. Eventually, I decided that private yoga sessions were better for me, as I was able to set my own schedule and availability.

While I was doing my private sessions, I got introduced to Ancestor veneration in 2017. I’d read about setting up an ancestral altar and giving offerings. This was new to me because I’d grown up going to Baptist Church in the south, my family didn’t practice Ancestor veneration. But it intrigued me. My uncle and father died later on in 2017, but I still didn’t put the altar up because I felt I didn’t know enough to do so.

Fast forward to summer 2019, after having dreams about my ancestors, I decided it was time to put up my altar — and that’s when my journey took another turn. I found myself wanting to learn more about my family and where I came from. I started asking my cousin, (who is our family historian) all kinds of questions. I even went back down to Montezuma, GA — the birthplace of my grandparents and their parents, etc. I was getting information overload lol.

I heard a voice that told me to start using some tarot cards my husband bought me back in 2016 when I was pregnant with my son. I’d never used the cards prior to hearing that voice. Once I started using those cards, I was able to hear and see messages from the Spirit realm. It scared me at first, but I believe this is a gift that was given to me and passed down from my Ancestors. My Ancestors are the reason why Blue Lotus Sacred Healing Place exists today. They gave me the name and the will to start my company. So now, not only do I teach Kemetic Yoga, I offer Tarot and Oracle Divinations as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not lol! This journey has definitely had it’s ups and downs. For example, last summer, when I first came into my gift, I felt like I was going crazy because I had so many dreams about random people whom sometimes I haven’t spoken to in years. I wasn’t getting sound sleep at night — it was crazy. But I eventually learned to control the messages I was getting, started taking Spiritual Baths, and things have been much better.

Please tell us about Blue Lotus Sacred Healing Place.
Well, my company is called Blue Lotus Sacred Healing Place and I specialize in healing the body, mind and Spirit. I teach Kemetic Yoga, that’s where healing of the body comes in. I teach meditation, healing of the mind and I also offer coaching sessions when you’re able to book a time with me to gain advice on a particular issue, healing of the spirit.

I also offer Tarot and Oracle readings when I help people get to the root of various issues in their life. I feel I am most known for practicing and teaching yoga because that’s what I first started out doing. But since I’ve been offering readings, that’s also starting to pick up traction as well. What I am most proud of as a company is that not only do I have a passion for doing what I do, I feel like this was meant for me to do. My husband told me when we first got married that I am a healer, I didn’t see it then but I do now. I try to lead by example, and what sets me apart is I teach what I’ve been through, I relate to my clients and my gift is from a source that no one else can claim as theirs because MY ancestors gave it to ME.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My realness. I’m not fake. If I don’t know, I say I don’t know. I’m genuine. I get so many messages from women who feel confident and comfortable enough to open up to me about things that they may have kept to themselves for years. I don’t take that for granted or lightly.
