Meet Coffe’ Summers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coffe’ Summers.

Coffe’, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I got started in 2009 with a publication I call Coffea. After surviving a motorcycle accident in 2003, I returned to school to obtain my degree in graphic design. Not being able to locate immediate work, I wanted to find a way to give other entrepreneurs a platform where they could be recognized. Though there were bumps along the way financially and emotionally, I remained focused on my end goal. I’ve always wanted to create using different forms of media. As the years moved on, I decided to restructure my publication, as well as branch out into other lanes. Within the past year, in addition to running the publication, I have managed to maintain a podcast called NO SUGAR NO CREAM, two interview docu-series called 15 Minutes and Candid Convos, freelance as a photographer/videographer, and raise two children. I am a firm believer in your perception being your reality and I refuse to give up.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle along the way has been learning when to say no. Naturally when you love what you do, you manage to be able to achieve your goals using every hour of the day. However, rest is required. Saying no not today is needed and surprisingly requires practice.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a journalist and media entrepreneur. Currently, I run my own publication called Coffea, which focuses on the lifestyles of growing entrepreneurs, which can be found at www.coffeamag.com. I’m proud that I have been able to meet and network with people from all walks of life. I am dedicated to increasing platforms for creatives. Creating this first has allowed me to venture into other forms of media like film and broadcasting. I will continue to push towards creating timeless pieces globally.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could have started over, I would have probably done things sooner. I feel the later you are in life, fear and experience sometimes prevent you from diving in after your dreams.
