Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Thompson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Paige. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My beauty career began as a teenager while working in a small boutique spa after school and on the weekends. Caring for others in a hands-on way was intriguing to me, and my interest began to grow, the more I was immersed in the industry. To add to my new developing passion in the beauty industry, my aunt also began her esthetic career specializing in makeup in the Palm Beach, FL area. I loved her intricate work and the happiness she brought her clients at the end of the service. I soaked up every minute I could get with her in the summers of my teenage years and quickly realized I wanted to have a similar career.
Out of high school, I attempted to go the university route to first obtain my business degree (as all well-meaning parents want you to do), but it didn’t take long to realize that wasn’t the path I was meant to be on. I soon began esthetic school at a local technical college and fell even more in love with the art of skincare, beauty, and the idea of growing my own, self-made career. Once finishing the esthetic program and becoming licensed, I began working at a myriad of day spas. I loved what I did, but wanted more! I knew there was an exact place for me in the industry- a place where I could serve my clients best. That notion is what sparked the idea to open Clarity, my one-woman esthetic business offering a little of everything from skincare, to spray tans, to eyelash extensions.
Clarity began a little over five years ago and has now grown to a team of eight amazing women. Although our team is all different in personality and style, we have one uniting passion: making women feel they’re very best! At Clarity, we now specialize in lash services and spray tans, and are growing to multiple locations. We also offer professional education and certificate programs in lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, and spray tans. My passion for the industry runs deep, as does my passion for helping encourage other women in their beauty careers. I am so thankful for the journey that has brought me to where I am today!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Isn’t life about learning from the struggles? Of course, I’ve had many career struggles along the way, but I prefer to look at them as growth opportunities. Here’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn the hard way:
1. Hire for culture vs. skill.
2. Business success comes from surrounding yourself with people more skilled than you.
3. You don’t have to do everything: niches = riches.

At Clarity, we specialize in all things lashes and tanning! We offer: eyelash extensions, eyelash lifts, eyelash tints, custom sunless tanning, education for professionals in all the services we offer.
But more importantly than the services we offer, we are invested in the lives in each of our clients. Our common goal is for each and every woman who comes to Clarity to feel their very best and most confident!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success, to me, is not reaching a specific income or revenue number. Success is creating a life worth living- something you’re excited to do at the start of each and every day.
