Meet Daniela Londono of Karma Fashions in Chamblee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Londono.

Daniela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Being a Latina that was born in Colombia, a country with a rich and remarkably happy culture, I have always enjoyed dressing colorfully and taking my culture in my clothes wherever I go. After I began interacting with people, I discovered the impact that my way of dressing had on them and saw this as a way to express myself! I created a business and simultaneously help women feel identified and enable them to carry a piece of my culture too.

Having KARMA FASHIONS STORE has opened many doors for me. I had the opportunity of participating in the following:

Host MISS LATINA INTERNATIONAL pageant
Participate in MISS GEORGIA EARTH 2019 ELITE winner – Best gown
MISS EARTH USA 2019 ELITE – high point swimwear.
MS INTERNATIONAL 2019-2020 – Top runway – Top resort wear
50 most beautiful Atlantans 2019 JEZBEL MAGAZINE
MUJER MAGAZINE cover
Presented KARMA FASHIONS at Cartagena Fashion Week (Colombia)
Personal Stylist for MUJER MAGAZINE SHOW (show online)

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Several years ago, I came to the United States from Colombia following my family and hoping to find a new path in my life that would lead me to success and allow me to achieve my goals. I set forth many goals but my priorities were to learn the language, start a career, and become an entrepreneur. These seemed like exciting but farfetched thoughts and the reality was far from it.

I worked as a housekeeper for over two years to be able to afford school and learn English as a second language. I wanted to remove the obstacle I had encountered, which was my inability to communicate and let my intentions be known effectively because of my accent. Despite this, I never gave up and knew that discipline and dedication were key in order to reach my goals and fulfill my dreams. What I never imagined was that this would all unravel and take place in the wonderful world of the fashion where there are so many exciting fields to explore.

Karma Fashions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The saying is that “what goes around, comes around,” which is why I decided to name my women’s clothing store: KARMA. By bringing the clothes I offer from Colombia, I am helping the community through fair trade and with every item I sell, I am reminded of the work and dedication of people who, just like me, have dreams and a desire to keep fighting.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success doesn’t come to you. You go to it. I want to make an impact and be an example for the young women that can feel identificated with my story.
