Meet Tijania Goodwin of The Divine Connections Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tijania Goodwin.

Tijania, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey as an entrepreneur started once I decided to do what was best for me! I went through a lot of hardships to get where I am today. I was faced with the death of loved ones, depression, anxiety, broken relationships, and low self-esteem. I have always had a love for people and creating amazing things. Creating a business was hard because I knew I had to make sure my brand’s mission was clear in order to have consistent clientele. In 2017, I decided to leave my full-time corporate job to pursue my passion of event planning. In my mind, I knew this was where I wanted to be and I felt the most happiest in that place. Along the journey of curating events, I started to get into graphics. I knew I had it in me because my creativity kicked in when my mom brought me my first computer when I was eight years old. I started to design my own flyers, business cards, logos, and so much more. Once people saw I had a gift in that area, people started to book services.

This is when I created my IAMPOSH brand, which stands for I AM Pushing Obstacles and Still Hustlin. This brand was a part of my life’s journey as an individual and an entrepreneur. During this time, now my work is getting published and I am getting featured in online editorial outlets. I decided that I wanted to bring both of my brands together and create The Divine Connections Agency. This is my platform, where I help my clients develop brand purpose and brand identity. This is accomplished through digital/print marketing, coaching services, consulting and media. I knew that all of these key components helped me find my PURPOSE in life. So with that being said, I created my own podcast called “Purposely Bossin Up.” The content from my podcast helps my listeners unveil their inner boss through transparency. Learning how to accept those ups and downs in your life assists you in developing what your purpose is in your life. Everyone that knows me knows that building off of your PURPOSE helps you build a better version of yourself.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building my brand, along with tackling life, has not been easy. I went through the loss of my mother and grandmother during this time. Living without them has been one of the hardest challenges yet in life. Not having them around made me feel like I was non-existent to some extent. It was my “new normal,” and I had to get adjusted to it real quick. So, of course, these events has now made me depressed and have anxiety. I did not realize until maybe 7 or 8 years later that this journey was about me learning about who I was. Navigating the journey of who I was as an individual was and is still interesting. I had been a caregiver for the majority of my life. So I was use to always putting other people first instead of myself.

I also second-guessed a lot of things I wanted to do in regard to becoming an entrepreneur as well, especially a full-time one. I wanted to know if I had enough money saved or would I get enough clients to sustain myself. Of course, there were plenty of others, but I knew this was something that would change my life. So I started to live a life of the unexpected because I had no clue how things were going to pan out. I always knew that if things did not work out, I could go back to work. In the back of my head, I could not have that as an option. Becoming the individual, I am now, showed me that I had to take those life struggles and turn them into life triumphs because they helped develop who I am today.

The Divine Connections Agency – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is called The Divine Connections Agency. This is where your brand connects with your soul purpose. Everything that I do has a purpose behind it and my audience can see that. I offer the following services: creative branding consulting, digital and print marketing, coaching, and brand/event sponsorship consulting. I love helping individuals find where they want to be as people and also in their business. I am the most proud of how far I have come in my journey as an entrepreneur and how I utilize my story as a foundation to help build brands. I truly believe that me building trusting relationships with my clients is what sets me apart from others. It is like someone giving you their baby to help them grow into something amazing. It is a great feeling to be a part of that process.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I feel that the proudest moment of my career thus far is when I decided to develop my own podcast. I had a feeling that it would be something that I would enjoy, especially since I love talking to people. This podcast has not just helped me develop my brand but has also helped those being interviewed share their testimony. That, to me, is the most important part of this platform. I am just so excited because I am preparing for Season 3 and to think that this was just a thought back in October of 2018.
