Meet Rubi Martinez and Cymphoni Laster of Runi Boutique in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rubi Martinez and Cymphoni Laster.

Rubi and Cymphoni, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We noticed that the Atlanta Fashion Market was limited as far as quality made unique clothing. We decided to combine our talents to create a comprehensive shopping experience for our clients. Our mission is to create a curated style experience for those who live life beautifully and with intention.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We obtained our LLC. in 2017 with the intention of launching our brand that year but as first-time entrepreneurs, we had a lot of learning to do. We had to learn how to launch a legitimate online boutique. After learning about DBA, registered agents, and home-based business licenses, we realized we were not in a place to launch in 2017. The following year we both experienced life changes regarding new career opportunities and family. We decided to focus on adjusting to our new lives. Runi Boutique officially launched on October 1, 2019.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Runi offers a comprehensive shopping experience. This means that we offer our clients carefully curated collections of clothing and the opportunity for a personal styling experience through our online boutique. We are proud of being a self-made women-owned company bringing diversity and individuality to the personal styling and fashion industry. We provide our clients with the opportunity to learn about themselves and how they can build a positive mindset and self-image through fashion.

What were you like growing up?
Rubi was a social butterfly who was heavily involved in the performing arts. She danced for ten years and loved dressing up and putting on a show. Her favorite part was showing her friends how to do their make up and helping them feel pretty. She discovered her passion for merchandising and fashion styling in college.

Cymphoni was always interested in self-expression through creativity, whether that be reading, writing, or fashion design. She knew at age 12 that she wanted to be a designer because she was obsessed with the beautiful garments she saw on shows like Fashion Trance, the Look for Less, Project Runway, and America’s Next Top Model!
