Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Johnson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sasha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am Sasha Johnson and I am originally from Montgomery, AL. The first position that I started was being a mother to my two beautiful sons. This motivated me to keep moving forward and accomplishing every goal that I set for myself. In 2014, I started a nonprofit organization named Sister’s 2nd Chance, where we focus on serving struggling women and their children in the Montgomery, AL, and now Atlanta, GA area. We have done things like providing gifts for single mothers for Christmas, provided food for low-income families for Thanksgiving and we offer free counseling for women struggling with depression, trauma, and etc. In 2019, I opened my first private practice as a licensed professional counselor in Alabama. This now online private practice is named Inside and Out Consulting. I am also now serving GA as a contracted counselor for agencies search as DFCS, foster families and etc. My newest creation or business is Sasha Mercedes, where I serve as a speaker. Under this platform, I am an author, and my most recent book is called, “It’s a Losing Battle But I Won.” I am also one of the radio hosts at The G Spot radio show under Power 108.9 in Atlanta. Today, I just focus on continuing to push myself and not giving up.
Has it been a smooth road?
This has definitely not been a smooth road. I feel like the biggest struggle that I have had and still have it with myself. I have to remind myself that I am enough and I am capable. I think that trauma such as emotional and physical abuse can set the tone of you continuing to battle with yourself.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.

This is what sets them apart from others because people that come to me under that I can not and will not judge them but in fact, I will uplift, cultivate and motivate them.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the many opportunities that this city has, but I least like the competitive nature in this city. I think that if more people supported each other and worked together, then this city would thrive more.
