Meet Gleyce Almeida-Farrell of Holistic Wellness Practice in Alpharetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gleyce Almeida-Farrell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gleyce. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For years, while living in NY, I worked in traditional mental health settings, including an outpatient hospital facility. Time and time again, I met with individuals of all ages who were experiencing chronic health issues, pain, fatigue, and mental health symptoms. Yet, all we were instructed to do was focus on the mental health aspect by providing generic counseling and referrals for psychiatric medication. I listened to clients hour after hour tell me that all they wanted to feel was “better,” “happy,” “less anxious,” etc. I knew this model was not the way to helping our clients achieve their goals.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a business, or anything new, is never a smooth road, but from obstacles and challenges is where you learn about yourself – your thought process, your strength, your resilience, your boundaries, etc. and the ones around you. It can be quite a beautiful journey if you’re open to it. Every day I learn and that I am grateful for.

Please tell us about Holistic Wellness Practice.
The most comprehensive and effective approach to mental health and wellness focuses on the whole person – their mind, their body, and their environment not just their symptom or presenting problem. It’s all interconnected. Holistic Wellness Practice (HWP) was created so teens, young adults, and adults can have a safe space to deeper their understanding of the whole self, including the interactions between their thoughts, emotions, and behavior.

HWP is a group practice located in Alpharetta, GA, offering mental wellness counseling, personal development and integrative nutrition health coaching, sound therapy, custom meditation, private/small group yoga, and educational workshops on various health and wellness topics. Our providers specialize in evidence-based methods of practice to help clients successfully overcome present challenges, whether they are long-standing or critical issues. At HWP, our goal is to assist clients in recognizing their strengths while developing new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting to increase their overall happiness and satisfaction with life. With accessibility in mind, HWP offers in-person and video sessions to Georgia residents.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
