Meet Jasmyne Flowers of Ten4Entertainment in SouthWest Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmyne Flowers.

Jasmyne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2005, I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Film. Also, I have a Master’s degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. In 2015 I took a leap of faith and started a film production company called Ten4Entertainment. Although it has been a struggle, I am working tirelessly to make Ten4Entertainment a top competitor becoming a household recognizable brand producing some of the world’s biggest feature films, television shows and media content. Along with striving to reach my career aspirations in film, in 2017 I expanded my entertainment career by started a podcast with two college friends. My media personality career has allowed me to co-host three different podcast and shows that include The Even Exchange, The Rated R Show and currently The Platform Speaks. While all of the show that I co-host are different, I use my platform to speak about issues that are important to me such as Black empowerment, mental health & wellness, LGBTQIA, women’s issues, entrepreneurship, popular culture, the political climate, relationships and also sharing personal stories to be more relatable. In the beginning of my life and career I’ve battled self-doubt and honestly that’s been the biggest barrier to success, however understanding those challenges and pushing myself to live a full life has caused me to venture into spaces that I once thought would only be a dream. Understanding that there’s a place for me in this media space has empowered me to keep moving forward and I’m excited to see how far I can go.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge has been not thinking that I was good enough. A tremendous fear of failure and self-doubt often times crippled me and cause me not to go for an opportunity because I simply didn’t think I was good enough. It’s been hard to get out of my own way.

Please tell us about Ten4Entertainment.
Ten4Entertainment is a film production company that produces visual content for audiences of all kinds. I’m most proud of the clients that trust in our skills enough to allows us to produce their projects. Having someone trust that their vision will come to fruition by the execution of my team is success to me. Our ability to connect with our clients through storytelling and visual imagery is what sets us apart from others. Every story has a home with Ten4Entertainment.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is going back to my birth hometown of Cocoa, Florida with my mother and sisters to visit for spring break. We would stay with my mother’s best-friend and our God Mother on those trips, go to Disney World and have the absolute best time of our lives.
