Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermond Nelson.
Jermond, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was raised by entrepreneurs and watched my father build a business from the ground up. I was inspired to work with my father at young age. I admired his freedom and ability to be his own boss. I knew that when I got much older, I wanted to build a business.
Being born in the 80’s and coming up in the 90’s era, where we had Damage and Cross Colours inspired my passion for fashion. I believed in the saying “if you look good you feel good. I’ve always loved a good t-shirt which is why I started my own t-shirt brand. One thing I thought was missing on shirts was a message to provide hope.
Because of some challenges in my own life, I’ve created Anias Zaire to motivate, inspire, and uplift young entrepreneurs. The name Anias Zaire comes from my son and nephew names. I wanted to create a legacy for them. The name means “Graceful River”. As you know a river flows gracefully despite its unexpected barriers and distractions surrounding it. Anias Zaire reminds young business owners to stay graceful throughout the different stages of their businesses. This is why I created, “Embrace the Struggle'” and “Dreams over Fears” which are my earliest creations.
I wanted to find a way to connect with people and aspiring entrepreneurs like myself who are going through some of the same trial and tribulations building a business. So, with the shirts I create within the brand is to inspire and motivate individuals to pursue their ultimate goal and dreams in life.
Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not! I have been through every emotion while building my brand, from feeling motivated like I can conquer the world to emotionally exhausted. My family and I moved to Arizona for a better opportunity and that’s when Anias Zaire was created. It was overwhelming in the beginning because I was finishing my degree, working in corporate America, raising children all while building a business. I had to find balance and make some serious sacrifices.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Anias Zaire started in 2014 in a 3rd floor apartment. We specialize in providing the best quality garments to motivate and inspire young entrepreneurs.

I am most proud that, I have fulfilled one my dreams of becoming a business owner. I have inspired many entrepreneurs to stay focused on their vision in life and not settle for mediocracy.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I feel like Atlanta is a great city for a business like mines to prosper. Atlanta is what you call the black mecca because of black businesses, political party, educational institutions, arts, music an overall culture. Over the years, we have seen the city become more populated with people from around the country because of the opportunities for blacks. It’s a place where you’re surrounded by black successful entrepreneurs. It’s a good place for networking and you’ll be surprised who you may run into that could help you take your business to the next level. Living in Atlanta you can’t help but be motivated and inspired.
