Meet Karma Wright of The Wright Assistant in Locust Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karma Wright.

Karma, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Great Day! My name is Karma Wright and I just want a few moments to tell you about me and my company. I am the mother to three sons Kendall, Kaden, and Kameron. Kendall, my oldest son, has autism and is nonverbal. I am a strong advocate for the autism and special needs community. My whole life, I have always had the gift of organization, but I never realized my passion for it until I became my Youth Minister’s Assistant. In addition to being an assistant, I also serve as the Youth Praise Team Leader and Teen Leader Advisor at my church. As I wear many hats with different responsibilities, the three components that I need for everything is Structure, Organization, and Accountability. Here is where The Wright Assistant was created.

As a Christian woman, I have always enjoyed helping and serving others. After realizing my spiritual gifts of Administration, Helping, and Mercy, I knew that I was going to have a career that not only serves others but blesses me. I got the idea in November 2018, right after we completed the Faith Summit at my church. After we completed the event and all the behind the scenes work that went into it is when I realized I want to do this all the time. I don’t have to be in the spotlight, but I like to be hands-on making sure everything runs smoothly. So, I birthed my business baby on August 8, 2019. I chose that date because eight is the number of new beginnings. The name was simple… my last name is Wright and I’m always helping people. So, I figured you can never go wrong with Wright and came up with the Wright Assistant!

In serving others, I am serving myself! So, please allow yourself to be blessed with good karma because GOOD KARMA WORKS! So, the only other question I have is, “HOW MAY I SERVE YOU?”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
All great journeys have bumps in the road, but some are bigger than others. This business was created because another one I wanted to start wasn’t coming together as I wanted it to with funding, resources, and property. I did get discouraged and felt like a failure, but that’s when I decided to really look at all things I’m good at doing. Most are things people aren’t good at doing or they just don’t want to do. I figure, why not take these amazing gifts and start my own business. So, here I am.

Once I decided to start my business the main sacrifice was sleep, lol! I was working a full-time job overnight while working with my business clients during the day. Along with being the mother to three boys, I am also my church’s youth praise team leader. My oldest son has autism and is nonverbal, so he requires extra attention. Overall, the main struggles were self-doubt and lack of sleep. However, I learned Delayed is not Denied! Everything is in God’s timing and to just trust the process and everything will work out. As my faith continued to grow and my support system kept me motivated, I eventually overcame it all.

We’d love to hear more about The Wright Assistant.
I provide professional, personal, and virtual assistant services for individuals and small business owners. The services I provide are data entry, appointment setting, booking travel arrangements, drafting documents, transcription, and organizing office space. My personal assistant services include running errands, creating household calendars, home organization, and any personal needs the client has that they cannot manage. I also help plan events and attend conferences, expos, and seminars either with the client or in place of the client. My virtual assistant services include all my professional services for clients out of state. The tasks I’m retained for mostly is Calendar, Email, and Social Media Management.

The main thing that I bring and what I’m most proud of is my Structure and Organization. I take pride in my attention to detail and my forward way of thinking. I think of things people don’t normally think of and will always have alternatives or back up plans for any scenario. I like to stay ahead of everything I do.

My customer service is what separates me from any other professional or personal assistant. Customer service has been important to me my whole life! You can teach anyone to do a task or complete service but having the desire and the passion for satisfying a client must come from within. No matter what I am tasked to do for my clients, I go above and beyond to not only complete it but to provide 100% professionalism at all times. Character is key and no situation will ever take me out of my character. This is how my customers turn into returning clients.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
When you are able to make an impact in others’ lives by doing what you love is success to me. One of my love languages is acts of service so assisting people to the best of my ability gives me pure joy. I never want to see anyone fail so I work my hardest to help all my clients in making their lives easier. People can’t be at their best in their field while trying to juggle several tasks that they are not graced to do. I will not only help organize their life but teach them systems and ways to where they can eventually do it themselves if they want to. Wherever you are lacking is where I am needed. I treat everyone the same no matter if you are the CEO, stylist, chef, teacher, single parent, or a bus driver. Success is knowing I made a difference or had a positive effect in their lives. That is how I keep client retention and grow my business everyday.
